This was hands down one of the best food tours I’ve ever done, and the reason is the host: Tania. From the very beginning, it was clear this wasn’t a generic “walk, eat, move on” tour. Tania brought real depth, context, and care to every stop. She clearly knows Mexico City’s food culture inside and out, but more importantly, she knows how to tell the story behind it. Every dish came with history, regional context, and thoughtful explanation without ever feeling like a lecture. The restaurant selection was excellent and well-paced. Each stop felt distinct, intentional, and thoughtfully chosen, not touristy or repetitive. We moved through Oaxacan flavors, contemporary Mexican cuisine, vegan tacos that genuinely surprised me, and specialty coffee that was treated with the same seriousness as the food. The progression made sense and kept getting better. What really stood out was how attentive and warm Tania was as a host. She was welcoming, relaxed, and incredibly knowledgeable, making everyone feel comfortable asking questions and engaging. She also clearly cares about the people behind the food, highlighting the chefs, the concepts, and why these places matter in the larger food scene of the city. This tour felt like spending the afternoon with a well-connected local friend who happens to have exceptional taste and deep cultural knowledge. I walked away full, informed, and genuinely impressed. If you’re considering this tour, do it. And if you get Tania as your guide, you’re very lucky. She elevates the entire experience. Highly, highly recommended.

The best Meridian experience

What an absolutely amazing experience. We visited so many great (and different) cantinas in Merida and our guides Jorge and Dania made it so much fun! And everywhere we went was so authentically Meridian. I would highly recommend.

We went on the Historic centre food tour in January 2025. This was a fantastic tour! It was a great mix of food and history, and food at all of the stops was excellent. Each stop was unique and offered a different insight (and taste!) of Mexican cuisine. Tania, our guide, was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

Historic Centre Food Tour (Sabores Mexico)

We had a great Historic Centre food tour with Sabores Mexico Food Tours - our guides were Maya and Angel. It was great to go to spots we wouldn’t find on our own (or know what to order) and get to taste a variety of Mexican foods and see a few historic sites in the city centre. Very enjoyable - highly recommend.

Great tour if you want to...

Great tour if you want to sample a variety of local cuisine and learn a little about the history of the foods and Centro Historico. Jimena was our guide and she was a gem. Save room in your belly as you will have a lot to eat. Jimena also gave us recommendations for other local restaurants to try. Azul Historico was amazing. Great atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious unique and authentic foods from all over Mexico.
