Fantastic experience with Mariana!
Our food tour guide was Mariana and she was fantastic! She was charming and fun and enthusiastic and very knowledgable. At each stop on our eating expedition she explained the origin of the food, the background and motivation of each chef / provider and what each item was that we were to sample. We had plenty to eat and drink (each stop included an interesting native beverage) with lots of variety. In between the stops we had leisurely walks through Roma Norte with stops on the way for Mariana to tell us about certain aspects of the history and architecture of the neighborhood. She was able to answer our many questions and at the some time kept us moving and on schedule. Ours was an English speaking group and we were lucky enough to have a really fun and diverse group of nine people. There was much laughter and sharing of travel stories and the day was a big success. We did not need dinner! Thank you Mariana!!!

Wow, was this great! Angel was our guide who took us on a tour of not only the rich history of food in Mexico City, but also a walk showing historical landmarks. His storytelling and knowledge of the city’s history was amazing. The whole tour was a total of five hours and 15 mins. Personally, I was thinking at first, this is going to be a long day. But the day flew by! We made six stops total. Great food at each one. From the San Juan Market (ate at three spots), to a local cantina called La Mascota, and a spot called El Bajio, which is a mildly higher end restaurant, you really got a feel for everything Mexico City has to offer. Angel sat with us at every spot. Explaining each dish and how the locals eat. He also always had an entertaining story either about the food we were eating or the building we were in. Highly recommend if you want to eat what the locals consider great food!

This historic food tour was an excellent introduction to the people, life and culture of Mexico City. The primary reason(s) for this opinion was our tour guide, Tamara, and her colleague, Josie. They are enthusiastic, charming and knowledgeable. Tamara’s knowledge of Mexico City’s history and food was encyclopedic. At every food stop, she explained the ingredients and backgrounds of our tastings. Our stops were varied and diverse—from elegant restaurants to cantinas to street stalls and fresh food markets. Drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, were included. As we wended our way through the streets of Mexico City’s historic center our guides pointed out important buildings and sites, complete with explanations of their history and fascinating anecdotes about the past. The tour was truly 5 hours long, sometimes over uneven pavements and busy streets with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. But the time and effort were worth it. The visitor gets a true sense of the real Mexico City beyond the usual tourist attractions. I recommend this tour highly to anyone who wants a unique and satisfying experience in a dynamic and captivating city.

Probably the highlight of my brief but beautiful time in the city! I lucked out and was the only one who signed up for the tour that day. Jossie was a wonderful guide. I’m so grateful to have gotten to know Coyoacán through her and the wonderful food vendors. Genuinely not a single bad bite throughout the entire tour. An absolute must do if you’re in CDMX. ¡Hasta la próxima vez y mucho cariño!

Stærk mad på den gode måde
Dejlig mad og sød guide. Vi prøvede virkelig flere spændende steder, fik en masse historisk viden og smagte så mange gode og smagfulde retter, nogle var stærke på den gode måde, andre var bare rigtig god streetfood. Guiden gjorde en forskel og kunne virkelig guide os i den Mexicanske kultur.

I really enjoyed this tour! We went to five different taquerias and a mezcal bar as well. Our guide Tamara was so engaging and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and also shared a lot of information about the cultural backgrounds and history of Mexico. We also had a driver Carlos for the taquerias that were a bit farther. The tour was a good amount of time to avoid having to eat too fast, but you certainly leave very full and happy! I highly recommend.

A Walking Food Tour to Remember This tour is an absolute must! From the very first stop, our guide made us feel welcome, sharing information about the history and culture behind each dish. The route was perfectly paced — enough walking to work up an appetite, but never rushed.

Delicious and fun filled afternoon!
Great day. Enjoyed walking Coyoacan and trying so many various Mexican foods. Everything was tasty. Thelma was fantastic and shared food knowledge, historical information, and happily snapped photos. Highly recommend!
