We did the 2 hour double rider snow mobile tour in Nov 2024. We did a morning group and got to see the sun rise. The tour guide was friendly and checked on us often to make sure we felt safe and comfortable. He did speed up during parts of the tour but that was one of my husbands favorite parts. Their snowmobiles, helmets, boots, etc. were high quality and well maintained. Their check in office is welcoming and by 11am is packed with all the other tours going on during the day. The location is easy to find with apple maps.

We booked snow mobile experience with Rods Alaskan and Victoria was our guide. We had heard a lot of good reviews from others and hence were very excited. But our experience was extremely bad. 1) Victoria was just rude, she wanted us to be pros the min we sat on the mobile. 2) all my friends who had booked earlier slot had a different experience, they went to frozen lake, were able to speed up and had lot of fun. We had none of this, the whole 1 hr was just bad and boring, no lake and no fun. Please be nice to ppl.!

Amazing dog mushing

Great experience

Matt, Joey, Jonah and Dee. We had such a wonderful time with these men. I would highly recommend it. They were very knowledgeable about the dogs. Very patient with a group of seven ladies and took lots of pictures for us.

Fun and Easy for Beginners

This was so much fun. Our guide was great and gave really good instructions. I was a little nervous about driving my own machine, but she made it really easy and we got to practice a little before going out. It was simpler than I thought and so much fun.

The Best Snowmobile Adventure! Moose sighting!

We enjoyed a 1 hour snowmobile adventure with an awesome guide, Will! Will started out with a great introduction to the basics of a snow machine, and important safety instructions. We had no experience with use of a snowmobile, so the intro and practice loops were very important in making me feel safe and comfortable. I realized quickly that you actually have to have some upper extremity strength to properly steer the snowmobile. I was able to drive it just fine and I do very sedentary work, but it was an awakening that snowmobiling is a sport - not a passive activity. Will was determined to find a moose, and found 2! I could tell when we got into "moose territory" as he would be looking back and forth trying to find them. Once he spotted them, he signaled us to stop, and we quietly watched them from a safe distance, got some photos and we moved on. We got a stretch break halfway through, as well. We had such a great time, we would definitely use Rod's for any other adventures they offered. Also - helmets were fitted to our size specs, were clean (they even had a helmet cleaning autoclave looking device and lots of Lysol), and had heated shields so no foggy views. Will made the whole experience comfortable, safe and loads of fun!

Family friendly educational experience

Nice quick trip around a circular route. Energetic and friendly dogs. Joey and Luther did a great job teaching us about dog sledding. Great to check off a bucket list. Pricey but worth it.

We had a really fun experience with Luther and his team!! Such an amazing way to experience an Alaskan tradition and learn about the dogs and the training etc. highly recommend Luther and Rod’s!!

Lovely

I loved this experience! Luther is an amazing guy and he explained to me a lot about his lifestyle. I enjoyed listening and learning while riding on the sled. The dogs are so cute and you can tell that they're his whole life. I had a chance to pet them and even took some photos with them, which turned out amazing. I did the 30-minute experience which is also what I recommend, anything longer than that starts feeling very cold! The facility provides very warm clothes and boots which is awsome, but I was still cold with the wind on me, because the dogs go very fast!!
