25 min sledding, not 1 hour
We love dogs, this was fun and heartwarming. The place is cute and inviting. They have all the gear needed there. The actual time sledding was less than 30 mins which is fine, but a little misleading when you booked a 1 hour activity.

Joe and his Motley crew of awesome huskies provided us an unforgettable ride! Joe was knowledgeable and enjoyable to learn from! The dogs were amazing! What an adventure! Highly recommend Rods and ask for Joe’s Motley crew!!!

Perfect for the first time
Checked in and bibs and better gloves were offered. Waited for guide outside. Multiple teams went out at the same time. We were third. It was follow the leader to start. Then we broke off to show dogs responding to commands. The race was on. That was the most enjoyable part, next to the break to meet the team. Perfect for the first time out. Highly recommend.

Winterwonderland!!!
The snowmachine ride was amazing. Our guide - Will - took us through beautiful forests with the sun peaking thru the trees! He would stop and take pics of you during the ride! He pointed out moose several times! We stopped on an area that appeared untouched. One word - AMAZING!!!! Can't wait to do it again!!!

My family and I had an unforgettable experience dog sledding with Matt Hall and Luther Buhr at Rod's Alaskan Guide Service! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. Matt and Luther were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience tons of fun! They took the time to explain everything about the sled dogs, the gear, and the art of dog sledding, making sure we felt comfortable and safe every step of the way. Their passion for what they do was contagious, and you could tell they genuinely care about both the dogs and their guests. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and dog sledding through the beautiful Alaskan wilderness was a highlight of our trip. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a first-timer, I highly recommend this experience. Matt and Luther made it so enjoyable, and we all left with huge smiles on our faces. A huge thank you to Rod's Alaskan Guide Service for providing such an amazing adventure for our family!

We loved it! Our guides Deke and Laura were amazing! Taught us about the dogs and we got plenty of dog snuggle time. Wish we had booked the longer tour! They were awesome!!

Jimmy and Deke were fantastic!
Our family of 4 — 2 adults and our college-aged daughters landed in fairbanks for spring break northern lights chasing….and our first stop was Rod’s for a 30-minute dog-sledding tour! Just a 25-minute drive from the airport, we landed at 1pm and were mushing by 3:15! My husband and i rode with Jimmy and our daughters went with Zeke took our daughters. It was fun to “caravan” and we got some great videos and pictures with the sweet dogs. Jimmy and zeke did a great job sharing information and insight about the culture of dog mushing, the dogs, the region and wildlife. Incredible way to kick start our alaska vacation!

Jimmy, Joanna, and Matt were awesome guides!! It was a great experience! The dogs were very friendly and we learned so much about them. The guides answered any questions we had about the dogs and racing! I would definitely recommend this!

Excellent operation!
Highly recommend. Matt and Deek were awesome. Very knowledgeable and kind with our kids. We took our family of five out for a half hour dog sled and it was awesome. Definitely a highlight. The ladies in the office were great also (wish I had their names). Veronica on the phone was helpful also. Great outfit!

Trevor was amazing so friendly and helpful to 7 women visiting Alaska with no fishing experience!!! The employees love their jobs I highly recommend this company. We also used them for dog sledding and also had a great experience and best customer service.
