Great day with Matt and the dogs
This was a great excursion. Matt Hall was our guide and he was amazing. He has completed many Iditarod and Yukon Quest races. His love for the dogs shows all day. He is a wealth of knowledge and is happy to share it. We would definitely recommend this experience and would do it a second time.

Fun way to spend an afternoon in a beautiful setting
We did the 4-hour Guided Ice Fishing expedition and it was a great experience. The cabins were easy to find based on the directions in our confirmation email, and the road out to Chena Lakes was well-maintained. Our guide Trevor was excellent and helped everyone get set up (we were in the cabin with other groups, so our cabin had all 14 spots taken - it was cozy but didn't feel too crowded). Trevor gave great tips on how to use the small poles and techniques to try, then let us fish while he prepared a snack of reindeer sausages. When I accidentally dropped my fishing pole straight down the hole (yikes!) he handled it with good humor and used an underwater camera and another fishing pole to hook it and haul it back up -- catch of the day! Trevor prepared all of the fish that we caught and served them up at the end of the day. We had a great time and would recommend booking this excursion earlier in your trip, as Trevor had a lot of good suggestions for things to do in and around Fairbanks. Tips: It does get warm in the cabin, so wear layers that you can remove. Make sure phones and sunglasses are secure so you don't lose them down one of the fishing holes!

Ice Fishing with Rods Alaskan Guide Service
Our ice fishing trip with Rod's Alaskan Guide Service was fantastic, largely thanks to our excellent guide, Cody. The Alaskan scenery was stunning, and Cody's knowledge led us to a successful day on the ice. We were thrilled to catch silver salmon, king salmon, and rainbow trout! Cody was friendly, patient, and offered great tips. The ice huts were comfortable, and the provided equipment was top-notch. The grilled fish was tasty, and the reindeer sausage was a special treat. We highly recommend Rod's Alaskan Guide Service and especially a trip with Cody for an unforgettable Alaskan ice fishing experience.

Easily our favorite Alaskan excursion this week was with Jimmy's Dogs @ Rods Alaskan Guide Service! The team was absolutely beautiful and Jimmy was a kind and gracious guide. Beautiful weather, stunning scenery and many unforgettable memories ❤️

Great time with the pups!
This was a fun little experience. We did the 30 minute ride and it was just the right amount of time. We had a fantastic leader who told us all about her dogs and their different personalities. She allowed us to take pictures with them and explained the entire mushing process from dog breeding to types of races. The facility was clean and thorough and it all made for a fun outing.

We did the 2 hour dog mushing tour with Kristen and Joanna. It was absolutely wonderful. We talked the whole time and learned so much. They allowed us to ride the rails for a short time with her too. We crossed Cheyna lake and there were people ice fishing and snow mobiling The whole trip was magical. Joanna and Kristen were just perfect

Amazing dogs!
No words to describe this amazing experience! I went on three 30 min and one 1hr dog mushing ride with different groups of family while visiting North Pole and the Fairbanks region. Deke,Joe, Jimmy, and Matt were all individually and collectively wonderful. They shared their dogs and a few stories about their kennels. They were all attentive to each individual.

Snow machine FUN!
Victoria was our snow machine guide on two 1hr trips with different family members. She was able to adjust each trip based on each individual's skill and comfort level. Even those who had never driven a snow machine were able to have FUN! The heated helmets and han grasps kept us warm. Highly recommend:)

Dog sledding with Kristen was an amazing experience. We would highly recommend this adventure for anyone of any age. The dogs were awesome and clearly well cared for. A great operation all around. And we cannot forget Trout. What a great welcome; just as friendly as you can find.

Very well run business
Great dog sled experience, stopped in the middle of run to have chace take pictures, get to know dogs. Deek is a nice guide and we had good conversations as well. He fed dogs after the run so we can see how dogs enjoy frozen Salmon chunks. It was fun!

A totally awesome, 5-Star experience. Kristen was a joy to ride with, very knowledgeable about the sport, and clearly cares for her dogs. We had a fabulous time and loved the dogs. Would definitely do this again.

Experience of a lifetime.
Matt Hall was our guide for our hour long dog sledding tour. It was AMAZING! Matt is the best and answered our endless questions. We we allowed to try our hand at standing on the runners. The dogs are super friendly and we were honored that our guide and dogs are 2nd place Idirod winners. Highly recommend this exoerience.
