FABULOUS!!!
Matt Hall was absolutely fabulous. He explained how they train the dogs and all about mushing. He helped with pictures. He also spoke of his high regard for his place of business where he goes to work. Rod's Alaskan tour. He loves it there. We loved it so much that after the first experience we rescheduled another visit. This tour is a must while in the North Pole or Fairbanks. Dusty and Michelle sister trip

Fun experience
We went ice fishing on Chena Lake and had a great time. We enjoyed meeting the other people in our fishing hut and our guide, Kody, was very friendly and helpful. This was a very unique experience for someone who had never ice-fished before. And, my son caught a rainbow trout that Kody cooked up and we ate - the fresh catch was delicious!

A lot of fun!
The snow machine tour was extremely fun! Our tour guide, Rodney, was great and even spotted three moose while we were out on the trails. Everyone at Rod's Alaskan Guide Service was very friendly and helpful. Great experience, I highly recommend.

Highly recommended!
Amazing experience from start to finish! They were very thorough in making sure we had the right gear. Helpful with answering all our questions. Emily was the musher for my sister and me and Emma was the musher for our mom’s sled. The dogs were wonderful- athletic and majestic but also so sweet and silly. You get to meet each one and give them affection (if they want it). Out on the trail, it was safe, exhilarating and surprisingly peaceful and serene. We could’ve gone all day!

What an awesome place. The women there were so friendly and helpful getting us all geared up to go sled dogging. The interior of the building is so cute. We had a great time and were so warm in what they outfitted us in.

We did the two hours dog sledding adventure with Laura A and LOVED it! She was informative and made it a ton of fun. She showed us how she would do some of the training and gave us some great detail on Alaskan Huskies. We laughed, we got to help mush and loved it overall. I would do this again. We also did the snowmobiling and enjoyed that as well. No new snow so it wasn't as fun but the guide was great.

Good experience snow machining. Will was our tour guide and he did an awesome job. We had some pretty timid riders in our group and Will went out of his way to make sure we still had a good time. Good place to snow machine for the first time, make sure to ask for Will to be your guide!

Dog sledding was so much...
Dog sledding was so much fun! My only gripe was that we only booked for half an hour. You'll need to provide your own transportation or book a taxi/shuttle to get there, but they provide additional warm clothing if needed. They request you get their thirty minutes prior to start time to get adequately dressed and to allow for the check in process. We got there with plenty of time. They handed us a buzzer and then, when it was our turn, our guide Joe lead us to the dogs and off we went! In between our sled ride, we took a break to meet the dogs, pet them, and ask our guide questions. I'm not a dog person but the dogs were all very friendly. It was cute watching them munch on snow during the break. Apparently, all of the dogs were Joe's own dogs! Worth it!

We did the dog sledding with Jimmy, and both him and his dogs were great! You can tell they love their dogs and treat them like kings. Thank you Jimmy for the fun!

Luther was a fantastic musher/guide. He is so passionate about the dogs and his life. We learned a lot and laughed out loud at, and with, the dogs. A great experience!!

I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
What a professional operation. Everyone was expecting us had the pieces and parts of clothing that we might need. They gave us great instruction. The dogs look well cared for they looked at our safety and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I rode with both Joe and Jimmy, and they were both very accommodating and helpful And all about safety as well as fun.

Great experience
After checking out a few different tour companies for our trip to Fairbanks we are glad we went with rods. For our dog mushing tour we were lucky to go with Luther and his team. Loved petting the pups and giving them some treats after their hard work. We were provided with warm gear which made it all easier for a relaxing ride.

Ice fishing!
Our first time doing ice fishing…. Great experienced with Cody. We caught 2 salmon and a rainbow trout.. Cody cooked them there and then.. delish. Aaw and the caribou sausage sandwich was good as well. Overall, great experience for first timer, my family enjoyed it.

Best time
We did the 2hr snowmobiling, 4 hr aurora night fishing and 1hr dog sledding. We loved each one of these. The entire staff here is friendly from the moment you walk in the door until you leave. They answer all questions and even answer the questions you didn’t know you had. We had a chance to talk with one of the owners as well. She too was wonderful. I highly recommend this for your winter amenities while in Fairbanks. They also offer the proper attire that is so warm hard to believe it was below freezing.

Wow! A perfect day and an AWESOME experience.
It was so fun. ALL of the indoor employees were FANTASTIC. It is apparent that they all love what they do. Jimmy was our sled "driver". He provided an excellent tour. He shared many facts about the dogs and experience caring for his team. His dogs are well trained and ready to run! It is apparent that they are well cared for and loved.

Dream come true!
This was a dream come true for me! We mushed with Jimmy and Joe. They both own their own teams and their dogs are so well-loved and cared for! Jimmy and Joe gave my 80-year old mom the time of her life! If I could only do 1 thing in Alaska, I would choose sledding with these gorgeous creatures! The entire staff were fantastic. They gave us all the gear we needed for the cold conditions, sent us reminders in advance of our stay, and clear directions. I highly recommend Rod's Alaskan Guide Service, and both Jimmy and Joe as Mushers! Thank you everyone! I will never for get this!

Fun ride
This was a fun ride on the snow mobile. Driving them for the first time and it was fun. Our guide made sure everyone was comfortable and kept constant watch to ensure the entire group was following him. Fun ride in the snow covered trails.

Great Experience
This was a last minute decision. We were at Rod's for snow mobiling and decided to do dog sledding after that. The staff was so nice and helped us though we did not have reservations. We did dog sled with Matt Hill (he won 2nd in the race). It was a great experience sledding with the dogs and learning a lot about their training, the kind of preparation put together as a team for the race and about the race itself. The way these pups are connected with their owner and the way they are taken care of is awesome. I typically shy away from dogs and Matt made me feel so comfortable and petted these pups with no fear. Great experience and thanks a lot Matt for this awesome experience.

A true highlight of our trip.
We had a great day with Kristen and highly recommend the dog sled tour. Kristen was friendly and informative. We enjoyed the beautiful trail ride and watching the dogs in action. It was a lot of fun! Rod's was welcoming and supplied all the gear we needed. Can't recommend highly enough.
