Wonderful experience!
Our experience going snowmobiling with Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service was terrific. To begin with, we were given the option to put on additional gear (thicker jackets, snow boots, thicker gloves), which we gladly took advantage of once we realized another layer couldn’t hurt. The heated helmets and handles on the snowmobile also made the ride comfortable. Our guide, Rodney, was extremely professional and made sure we were all relaxed and well-equipped. He gave us a good amount of time to take photos in between, answered all our questions, and even taught us a little about the river. Halfway through the ride, we were able to switch riders to give everyone in our family a chance to drive. The views were beautiful, and our whole family had fun –we would definitely recommend it. Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service is a one stop shop for all your winter adventure and I was very impressed by how organized the entire team was - from check-in to check-out.

Ice fishing on a frozen lake at -22C
This was our first experience ice-fishing, and Cody took great care of us. He was available to help whenever any of us ran into problems (hitting the bottom or stuck lines) and let us switch between indoor and outdoor ice fishing if we wanted. We were provided water, hot cocoa, and reindeer sausages to keep our energy up. Cody was very friendly and great to converse with throughout, which made the time pass quickly. We were slightly hesitant about how good the fish would be with minimal seasoning, but it ended up being delicious (especially the trout)! While our family didn’t catch as much as we had hoped for, the experience was well-organized and enjoyable. Thanks for the heated cabin!!!

My husband and I, along with our friend booked the dog sledding tours and we had an unforgettable time! It was our first time ever trying dog sledding and our mushers Deke and Cooper were really great people who made our time even more fun! We could tell they really love and take care of their dogs (the very same ones mushing!) and we got to have plenty of time getting to know and hang with all the huskies and had lots of photo ops thanks to our mushers. We also have to say the establishment is well organized and clean. Our whole experience at Rod’s went very smoothly and all the staff were super friendly and helpful it felt quite comfortable to be there.

Fun!
My ice fishing experience was great with Mike. He was very interactive with all the clients, good conversation and was a great cook! I would definitely come back and would recommend this experience.

This was such an incredible experience! We did a bundle package which is definitely the way to go to make sure you get in ALL the fun Alaskan activities! Snowmobiling with Josh, ice fishing with Trevor, and dog sledding with Lindsay were all INCREDIBLE experiences that they really made so personal and special. Extra shout out to Trevor for making a snowy, no-northern-lights night so memorable!

Ice fishing with Mike!
This was not only my first time ice fishing but also my first time fishing in general, and Mike made it an absolutely fantastic experience! He was engaging, shared great stories, and kept the entire group entertained for the full four hours—no small feat. Mike’s expertise and enthusiasm made the adventure memorable and enjoyable, and the delicious fish we caught was the perfect finishing touch. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun and unique Alaskan outing!

Goggles helped a lot
Fantastic ride with Jonah! It was truly an incredible experience not only riding with his dogs but also learning about their temperaments, lifestyles, etc. Every time we asked a question, he was able to answer us immediately. Fun tip: goggles weren’t required, but we found it helpful blocking any wind and snow flying around. Would do it 100 times again.

Snowmobiling with Victoria!
I had an awesome time on the 2-hour guided snowmobile tour with Victoria. She made sure everyone was comfortable and safe, giving clear instructions before we started. I mentioned how much I wanted to see a moose, and she was kind enough to keep an eye out for me throughout the ride, which I really appreciated. The tour was well-organized, with stunning scenery, and Victoria’s friendly and helpful attitude made it even better. Highly recommend!

Loved our experience with Emily!
We had an amazing time with Emily and her dogs! She’s knowledgeable, friendly and we had a lovely chat about her huskies. About half way of the experience, we stopped at a beautiful place to let the dogs rest a little bit, we got to say hi to all of them and take pictures. Highly recommend this activity!

Excellent Experience
Amazing Experience!!! And the views were breathtaking as well. The dogs were so friendly and lovely, they seemed to be taken care of with love and given all the attention they might need!!! The drivers were kind and answer all our silly questions with patience and with a big smile!!! I definitely recommend this place.

Highly recommend
The trip was awesome! Jimmy, Lindsey, and Christen were so kind and knowledgeable! Each of them took the time to tell us each dog’s name, their relationships to each other, and let us play with them and get photos! It was -20 when we went and the provided gear kept us warm!

Fun, exciting,very calm peaceful. Take it all in just sit in silence and enjoy your surroundings-nature. Our musher Laro (may be spelled wrong) was awesome. Definitely recommend

This was such a fun experience! Our two guides were so friendly and their dogs were all absolutely sweethearts! They took some great photos of us with the dogs too. The office staff was so welcoming and took care of us fitting us with all the good gear. The boots they had for us kept us very warm and toasty at 5 degrees F. Bibs kept us warm and dry in the snow as well! Excellent time and fun to get a short trip with dogs. If you’re worried about the sledding only being 30 minutes. It was a perfect amount of time for our family member who has some light mobility issues.

We had great time with some amazing animals! We learned a lot about dog sledding from our guide, Jonah, who really cares about these amazing dogs and treats them like family. Great time!
