Trevor is wicked awesome
My wife and I went and did the 10pm-3am ice fishing in the heated hut and FYI it gets toasty in there! Our guide Trevor was wicked awesome! There were 7 of us all together but the vibe was great and we had a-lot of laughs. When Trevor saw I hadn’t caught a fish while everyone else did, he was determined to land me a fish and took us outside to drill another hole. It was COLD out there but I ended being the only one landing a trout so it was worth it and delicious! Truly a great experience that we plan on doing again when we come back.

What a great mushing experience
4 of us went and we had Jimmy and Kristin and their awesome dogs. It was great weather and fun to interact with the dogs and get some great photos. Both guides were knowledge and the time was a blast. You can tell they love what they do and are passionate about their pups. Thanks for a great adventure

Such a great way to end our trip
Victoria was awesome. She was funny, engaging and made it a blast and her pup is precious. We had a great few hours, the gear, the people, the machines, the scenery was perfect. Thanks for the best last day we could have asked for.

Fun evening especially cooking the fish
What a fun experience. Riley was awesome. Friendly, helpful and just a really good guy. We enjoyed the ice fishing. There were only 3 of us the evening we were there. We all caught fish, released them then kept a few for Riley to cook for us. He also made reindeer sausage. Really delicious. Afterwards we looked for the auroras. We saw a very faint auroras. Great times. My only problem was the directions although good, I didn’t know where to go once I got there! It was so dark I was afraid to drive fearing I’d get stuck, maybe some lanterns would be helpful to direct people

Had a wonderful hour long dog sledding tour with Laura Allaway and couldn't recommend the experience enough. Laura was a wonderful guide and answered all our silly questions. Her dogs were terrific and obviously well taken care of. Rod's staff was also helpful and organized. They provided boots and warm outer layers for anyone who needed which definitely came in handy. The temp was -25f but we were rather comfortable on the sled thanks to them. Also worth mentioning that there was good signage to get to the facility. Great time all around and would recommend it to anyone remotely interested!

Had an incredible ice fishing experience with Rod's Alaskan Guide Service in Fairbanks! Our guide Cody was fantastic - personable, knowledgeable, and made our 4-hour trip fly by. The underwater camera setup was a game-changer, letting us watch the fish interact with our lines in real time. Cody shared lots of helpful fishing tips and cooked up our catch perfectly. The thoughtful extras really made the experience special - delicious hot cocoa and reindeer sausage hit the spot on the ice. The absolute highlight was watching a majestic bald eagle swoop down when Cody fed it some fish scraps - a truly Alaskan moment! Update following the business’s response. I don’t think you read the review in its entirety. I fully understand the cancellation policy as it was stated. However, the incident had nothing to do with us, the riders cancelling within the 48hr window. The cancellation was your guide’s decision due to the temperature and glasses that had to be worn. For example: If we showed up the day of and said “I don’t wanna go”, that’s a bit different than what took place of “hey, with these temps, and you wearing glasses, we are going to have you ride on the back of someone’s instead of allowing you to drive one” Again, the guides were amazing, the experience was amazing. Just disappointing business practices given the special circumstances. Thanks again. {Would be 5 stars, Explained below why only 4 stars.} Josh and Will were the greatest guides imaginable! They take the time to make sure each and every person is comfortable, all while making for a fun and enjoyable experience on the snow mobiles. (I would have given 5 stars, however, we had a rider that only wears glasses. Wearing glasses in the cold doesn’t work for driving a snowmobile. The email says if available wear contacts but one of our riders doesn’t own contacts. [A double rider rental is cheaper than renting 2 snowmobiles] They did allow them to ride on the back of snowmobile, but there was no partial refund or discount for the rental that wasn’t able to be used. I understand the website says a lot of “no refund” verbiage, but given we had 8 snowmobile rentals for today; just a little disappointing in their business practices. Just plan for no refund or compensation for any reason no matter what when booking and you will have a better mindset going in to the situation). With all that being said, it was an absolute phenomenal experience, and again, our guides were the best and would love to come back someday to do it again.

Love the dogs
Our guides were kind and friendly. We thought the ride was too short. It says a 30 minute ride, it was less than that. The dogs are well cared for.

Over the river and through the woods.
Victoria was great, she took us over the river AND through the woods. She was very fun and funny, and always made sure the whole group was doing alright and having a good time. 10/10 would recommend this adventure!

Snow Machine with Victoria
The views on the trails were great! We went through tons of trees and even drove over the Alaskan Pipeline! Victoria was the best and was really informative. If you have a chance to go definitely book it through Rod's.

Dog Mushing experience!
Our family went dog sledding with guides Emma and Joe. The experience was a lot of fun, and the dogs were extremely cute and excited to run. Throughout the ride, our guides answered all our questions about mushing and the dogs themselves. They helped us take photos and gave us the opportunity to interact with the dogs before and after the sled ride.

Snow Mobile Tour was AWESOME
Victoria was such a great guide! She made sure we had a great time and took us through some cool paths that lead to a frozen lake! She stopped to take some awesome photos of the sunset and was very informative! I would totally recommend this tour and to try and have her as your guide! Thank you Victoria!

Great experience!
So much fun and so informative! One of the mushers even let us go inside the big cage and feed the dogs a treat because he saw my friend and I watching them. Very sweet, would do again.

Victoria was great! She was helpful with gear, she communicates well with the snow machines and how to do it. She stopped us at some great photo spots along the trail and also took any pics we wanted. Definitely recommend.

Amazing dog sledding experience
Matt Hall was a fantastic guide for our dog sledding excursion. He was informative and engaging. The whole experience was amazing and anything we have ever done. We will highly recommend this to all friends and family.
