My friends and I had an incredible time with Rod’s Alaskan dog sledding and snowmobile experience. Our musher, Matt, was exceptionally knowledgeable and provided fascinating insights about his dog team. He even shared details about the 1,000-mile race in Alaska and how he’s preparing for it – I was absolutely blown away! Wishing Matt and his team all the best for the race ahead.

Lots of fun with a great guide!
We had an awesome time! Victoria was an excellent guide as we made our way thru the groomed trails and on top of the Alaskan pipeline! We always felt safe but opened up the throttle on some sections of the route to add to the fun! Great for beginners. All outerwear was provided; and was more than adequate. Very professional and friendly operation.

A must-do activity in Fairbanks!
We did the one hour dog sledding with Laura and Jimmy. I was on Laura’s sled and she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the sport and lifestyle. You could easily tell these dogs love doing what they do, and are well taken care of. I would recommend this activity to anyone in Fairbanks!

So Doggone Cool!
My fiancée and I went to Rod’s today for a 1 hour dogsledding adventure. Jimmy and Laura brought their teams of dogs for us - I was with Jimmy, Lauren was with Laura - and Jimmy taught me a ton about how training works, how they pair the dogs, the musher lifestyle… all that good stuff. And, how to point the team in the right direction at the right speed - I got to run the sled for part of the trip. Also, the dogs were super friendly, very well cared for, and they (and the mushers) genuinely love what they do. I look forward to a longer tour next time I’m up here in the winter, perhaps the 4 hour Aurora adventure!

STAFF: the staff was absolutely amazing. our mushers, luther and cooper were so sweet and you could tell how much they love their dogs. the staff working inside the facility were also so nice and they made sure you had everything you needed. they also made sure to explain everything from safety protocols to answering random questions one may have. FACILITY: the facility is super clean and modernised with safe places to keep your things. boots, snow pants, gators, hats, balaclavas and gloves are all provided if you didn’t bring your own. DOGS: we were split up into two sleds so we got to meet a total of 20 different dogs. they were also so sweet and very friendly. they were so well behaved and loved getting attention from guests. the dogs are kept in warm dog houses and are treated very ethically. they are extremely taken care of/maintained and treated with the utter most respect. they given the amount of exercise and food their breed requires to make sure they are healthy and fit. EXPERIENCE: we booked the 1hr tour which included getting to ride on the back of the sled with the mushers, getting to stop and cuddle the dogs and getting to sit with the dogs in the car woods. overall this experience was amazing and we had so much fun. it’s a great activity for families of any size and of all ages.

Great Day in Alaska
Luther and Cooper were excellent and very informative mushers. The ride was terrific and checked off one of our bucket list items. We could not be happier with our choice of using Rod’s Guide Service.

It could have been better
Let’s start with the highlight first! It’s got to be the dogs! They were everything good… they were cute they were playful they were cheeky they were the best! We all know dogs can do no wrong! Our guide not so much! Never introduced herself (so we have no idea what her name is) or the dogs, gave no information about these furballs and all my attempts to strike a conversation to get ANY information was met with the shortest response possible . It just felt like she did not want to be there. But dog mushing is a MUST DO! just hope you get a guide who enhances your experience, we can’t be putting all the responsibility on these puppies!

Adventure in North Pole, Alaska
Great weather and beautiful scenery. Luther and Cooper were so informative and easy to visit with. They truly love their dogs and have a great personality. Fun riding on the sled. Really enjoyed our outing.

Awesome fishing and northern lights display
We had an amazing experience with Mike (and Zero, his dog) as our guides. Mike was wonderful throughout the night. He showed us how to use the rod and reel, kept an eye out for the northern lights, cooked reindeer sausages and some of the fish we caught, and was a great photographer both for the fish we caught and the northern lights. Everyone in our group caught at least one fish. The weather was cooperative and we got lucky to see an amazing display of the northern lights.

Emma, Deke, Jimmy were great. We gotta dig sled and play with the dogs and get some great photos. The whole staff was great.

We had the most incredible night ice fishing and we were fortunate enough to see the Aurora in all her glory! Mike our host was AMAZING!

Incredible Dog Mushing Experience in Alaska! I had the most amazing time dog mushing in Alaska! From start to finish, our musher was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about both the dogs and the adventure. The team of dogs was energetic, strong, and clearly well-cared for, which made the whole experience feel so special. The scenery was breathtaking — the snow-covered trails, the towering mountains, and the peaceful quiet of the Alaskan wilderness were all unforgettable. Our musher made sure we were safe, comfortable, and fully immersed in the experience, sharing tips along the way and making it a fun and educational adventure. If you're looking for a thrilling, heartwarming experience in the heart of Alaska, I highly recommend this dog mushing tour! It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Terrific Experience
Had a wonderful 30 minute ride with Jimmy and his team of sled dogs. Jimmy was an excellent guide who offered up lots of information about the sport, the dogs, and Fairbanks in general. The dogs were friendly and Jimmy let me give each a treat. Next time I'll be sure book a longer trip.

Wonderful dog sledding experience
We had a great time with Jimmy and Deke as our mushers. They were informative and entertaining, providing us with info and fun facts about dog sledding. The dogs themselves were such great dogs. It was a beautiful day and wonderful experience. My partner was skeptical about whether or not he'd enjoy the experience and by the end of our ride he was so glad we booked the tour.

A great dog sledding experience
A great experience. Jonah, our musher, was very likable and knowledgeable. He shared great information on dog sledding. Gear was top notch. We were not cold at all. Would highly recommend.

Get it off your bucket list!
Great experience! I was nervous about not having good enough gear, but they have everything you need! Our guide Jonah was fantastic! He explained so much about the Iditarod and the dogs!
