Highlight of Our Trip
The guides were so nice! We saw lots of moose, and the views were incredible. The dogs are cute and friendly- it’s very cool if the guide lets you ride in the back with her. The snowmobile tour is also amazing and very exciting. It’s great to go fast and the frozen river is beautiful in the winter. The people there provide all of the essentials like jackets, mitts and helmets. I think we should definitely come back!

DO IT
Josh was an awesome tour guide for our snowmobiles! He was super friendly, fantastic energy, and he made us all feel safe. We had a wonderful time and the hour FLEW by! We all were sad when we had to go back. Honestly should have booked the two hour tour because it was THAT much fun. I love that Rod’s provides boots, helmets, and even parkas to its guests, so everyone is comfortable in the elements and has a great time. Seriously such a fun tour and we would go again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I did 3 different excursions through Rods.. Dog Sled, Snowmobiles and Aurora Ice Fishing. All 3 were incredible. Josh was a great snowmobile instructor and guide, we had an amazing time and even got to see a few moose along the trail. Our ice fishing guide Mike really made the night comfortable and enjoyable. In the final hour my wife caught a rainbow trout which was definitely a treat and Mike cooked all 3 types of fish we caught to perfection. We even got stuck in the snow and Rod personally came and pulled us out.. we are extremely grateful. I would give Rods a 10/10 if possible and I highly recommend this establishment if you are a local or a tourist seeking the best adventures and sights. Thank you all for giving us an amazing time on our trip to Alaska. It will be unforgettable and a talking point in my future travels.

Great run with Joe Weber!
Amazing time with Joe Weber and his pups. Great run and very informative. Had such a great time and Joe made it so enjoyable and interactive with the fur babies. Highly recommend and the view are breathtaking!

A night to remember
Did the ice fishing aurora viewing adventure with Mike. Unfortunately the night didn't produce any lights.. but Mike was very upfront about that when we arrived and checked continuously for us for the off chance they did show. Regardless, it was an amazing time. For a 5 hour excursion.. it felt like a moment. We even stayed past 3am due to the groups connection. Fishing.. sharing stories.. eating excellent fish.. it was one of the best experiences my wife and I could have asked for. Thank you to the father and son that sat across from us and of course you Mike for making our time so enjoyable. We hope Zero had a great time too haha. It was a perfect ending to our Alaskan trip. May all your travels be safe.

We took 3 tours with Rods. Our ice fishing adventure was a blast with Trevor. He went above and beyond to make it a wonderful time. Our snowmobile trip with Josh was fun and we even got to see a moose! The snow machines were very nice as well. Our dog sledding trip with Steve was also a blast. The dogs were so excited and Steve was very passionate about his dogs. Look no further than Rods for all of your Fairbanks adventures!

Great experience ice fishing with Mike!
Me and my husband were having a blast time last night that we almost forgot about the time. @Mike is awesome for teaching me skill that I was able to catch 4 king salmons. I have to say he did a great job for cooking those fish as well. Even the aurora is a little weak but we really have a fun time with our little 5 people group in the cabin. Nice and cozy. I was told i am lucky to catch a rainbow trout!! So much fun! Thank you for the night!

100% Must Do Experience
I did the 2 hour tour with Emma Lewis and it was the best experience I’ve had in Alaska by far! She was super knowledgeable and friendly and made it the perfect Alaskan experience! It is a must do event for anyone in the state.

Great experience dog sledding with Rod's Alaskan Guide Service
We had a wonderful time dog sledding with Jimmy's Dogs at Rod's. Rod has individual mushers come with their own teams and Jimmy was great. He was happy to answer all our questions about mushing and clearly loves his pack. The scenery was stunning and it was so wonderful to see the dogs enjoying themselves and the sun sparkling on the snow. Rod provides very warm clothing so we were plenty comfortable the whole time. Jimmy took great photos of us and being cuddled up on the sled together was unexpectedly romantic. Definitely recommend.

Victoria is a fantastic Snowmobile guide and lead us on a two hour excursion covering over 45 miles! Provided equipment is excellent, warm and comfortable. Ask for Victoria for a safe and memorable experience!

A great Alaskan adventure
We had a wonderful dog sled ride with Laura our musher. She was very informative about the sport of dog sledding. She truly cared for her team of dogs and they were well trained. Rods tours provided all the warm gear you needed to be comfortable. They were well organized and very friendly. I only wish we would have taken the one hour tour instead of the 30 minute ride. The scenery was beautiful!!!

Fantastic experience. Totally worth it!
Our guide, Travers, was simply awesome. He taught us how to set bait, fish both inside the heated cabin and on the frozen lane. We even watched him feed a bald eagle right next to the cabin! This is a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

Kristen, Lindsey, and Laura were amazing! We loved the dog teams each of them handled. You could absolutely tell how much they cared for their dogs and making sure we all had a great experience.
