Great experience ice fishing
Cody was awesome! He got us all set up in the cozy cabin with fishing rods and bait and made sure all of use were comfortable with it being our first time ice fishing. He cooked up a few of our fish to enjoy during the trip and it was delicious! We had a blast. Cody was an excellent guide.

We did the snowmobile experience with Victoria! So amazing! So much fun and would recommend!! Try it out if you’re inclined.

Great experience doing the dog sled tours!
We did the 30 min and liked it! We had Jimmy as our guide with his team of mostly black colored dogs. It was informative and we learned a lot about how the dogs work with the mushers to compete in races and saw a glimpse into their lives!

Gone to the dogs
We had a fantastic time. Luther was very knowledgeable and shared information about the dogs. We were able to love on the dogs and the ride was great. The gear they outfitted us with was very warm. Great experience we would highly recommend.

Rod’s is an AMAZING experience!! All of the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, especially our mushers Luther and Willow! You can tell that everyone here is dedicated to making sure the customers AND the dogs are having a great time! Wonderful Dogsledding Experience
Jimmy was a great guide and demonstrated wonderful control with his team. He was terrific about taking photos for us, and also gave us interesting info about the dogs, their training, and how they got their names. He was obviously very proud of his dogs and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

This experience was our best Aurora viewing experience over a week staying in Fairbanks! Mikey was an awesome guide and took an excellent picture for us with the Aurora in the background. My husband and I each caught 3 fish but others in the group caught up to 10. Mikey’s a great cook and the reindeer sausage + hot chocolate was a plus! The cabin is nice and toasty to give you plenty of opportunity to stay warm in btw light viewing. 5 hours seems like a long time but it was a perfect amount of time! Highly enjoyable experience at a very fair price in my opinion!!

A must do Alaska experience!
There were a lot of different companies that offered dog sledding…but we chose this one and we thought they were excellent!! They are also veteran owned so that was a plus! My 4 friends and I had a great experience from start to finish! The employees were very friendly and helpful…making sure we had warm enough clothes to be comfortable! The dogs and mushers were top notch! We had Emma and Willow and they were Great!!🥰

Fantastic experience, beautiful scenery, and great staff
I went on the half-hour dog sled experience with my 23 year old son and we both loved it! It felt like the perfect amount of time, and is a reasonable price for such a unique experience. It's a beautiful area you sled through and the dogs stay on a well-trodden path. If you have two people one person sits right on the sled, legs stretched fully out in front of them, the other sits on a "seat" right behind and slightly above that person, then the guide stands behind. Our guide- and the entire staff- was great! The dogs know their job so well the guide never even has to say anything to them. I was hoping for some Yukon Cornelius style cliche "mushes" but no such luck, ha! And you stop to meet the dogs and take pics with them if you want to, about halfway through the tour and out in the wilderness. The dogs LOVE their jobs, when you stop they bark like "Go go GO!" They give you awesome parkas to wear for free, and I suggest wearing them, it gets super cold when you're sledding even though you're only going about 10 mph they say. In fact they cancel the dog-sledding entirely if its super cold out. I was there four days and for three of them it was about -25, they canceled all tours those days. So be aware super cold weather is great for clear skies and auroras but not great for dog-sledding. Also, getting an Uber to the sledding place from Fairbanks is easy, but it can be a bit hit or miss waiting for one to take you back. But you shouldn't have to wait too long if at all. And if you're a Christmas fan I highly suggest visiting the town North Pole and the Santa Claus House while you're in the area. The dog-sledding was so awesome! Highly recommended!

On vacations we sometimes have a challenging time finding things that our 17, 14, and 9 year old boys enjoy together, but this was it! Our guide Will was superb and was even able to tailor our 2-hour tour to our family as my husband and I are experienced riders and our boys are novices. We had three 2-up machines that were newer, clean, well maintained, and ready to go. The trails were nicely groomed and the weather was beautiful. Also, the office staff and ladies fitting the outdoor gear were friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities were well-maintained with clean bathrooms. We even got a little "show" from Rod himself! All contibuting to an unforgettable experience that we will be remembering for years to come. Money and time well spent. Thank you!

Fun fishing experience for all
Cody was our guide for ice fishing in the heated cabin at Chena Lakes in Feb 2025. He was super chill, helpful with the fishing equipment, making sure everyone was taken care of, and cooked us some great, freshly caught grilled coho and reindeer sausages! Would highly recommend it to everyone. Even a beginner like myself caught lots of coho salmom and rainbow trout. The cabin was super cozy and warm as well

Came here on 2/27/2025 with my dad for the 1 Hour Dog Sled. Had a pretty good time! The guide was experienced and friendly. We spent about 1 hour on the trail with the dogs. We stopped a few times to switch seats, take pictures with the dogs, and were even able to stand in the back with the guide while sledding. Our guide was friendly and answered all of our questions. At the end, he even let us feed snacks (basically beef patties) to the dogs!

Amazing trip
My mom is 81 and she had an amazing time. It was nice they had a bench seat for her to set on. and a cushion for the person on the bottom of the dog sleigh. It was an amazing experience.
