Our 1 hour dog sledding adventure was incredible. Our tour guide was Jimmy from "Jimmy's Dogs" and he did an excellent job teaching us about and introducing us to the dogs. He gave us information about each one, including their past and their personalities, then we even got to feed them at the end of the experience! This was easily our favorite experience of our winter trip to Fairbanks, we were even able to stand on the runners and drive the team! Jimmy was kind enough to take many pictures and videos as we made life long memories! Everyone at Rod's Alaskan Guide Services was friendly and helpful, ensuring we had the right boots, pants, and coats to stay warm during our adventure, I highly recommend any of their tours!

Wir hatten eine 2 stündige Schneemobiltour mit unserem Guide Will. Wie bei der 1 stündigen Tour, war er sehr aufmerksam und suchte Elche, damit wir sie sehen und fotographieren können. Er hatte einen guten Überblick über die grossr Gruppe. Wir fühlten uns bei ihm sicher. Viele Grüsse von Beke und Antje aus Hamburg Deutschland.

Highlight of our Fairbanks Winter Adventure

Incredible Dog Mushing & Snowmobile Adventure at Rod's Alaskan!
We had an amazing experience at Rod’s Alaskan, doing both dog mushing (30 mins) and a snowmobile tour (1.5 hours)—it was an absolute blast! Kristen, our musher, introduced us to her incredible sled dogs, each with their own personality: Cass (the cute one), Puper (the playful 9-month-old), Skandic (the jumper), and Chummy (the 7-year-old veteran lead dog and racer). They were not only strong and skilled but also so much fun to interact with! As dog lovers, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Rodney, our snowmobile guide, made sure we had an exciting and safe ride through the stunning Alaskan landscape. To top it off, he even led us to see a moose in the wild, which was an unexpected and unforgettable highlight! Rod’s Alaskan has such a welcoming and fun atmosphere—it’s clear they love what they do. If you’re visiting Fiarbanks,Alaska, this is a must-do experience! Highly recommended!

Seeing Alaska in the winter and visiting our daughter.
Went to see the Northern Lights and decided to try snowmobiling. It was great. Excellent gear to keep you warm. Heated helmet and heated grips. Stayed warm the whole time and it was only 8 degrees. Also seen 6 moose. We were able to drive over the Alaskan pipeline at speeds up to 45 mph.

Lovely ride with Victoria
Victoria was an awesome guide. She kept us moving without losing anyone. The air was crisp and the sun was glorious. The gear they provide kept us toasty...outer jacket, pants and gloves if needed, and the best--- a HEATED helmet!!!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Rod’s Alaskan Guide. I visited with my fiancée, her dad, and our 99-year-old friend, and the entire team went above and beyond to make our adventure memorable. Dog Mushing with Luther and Laura Laura was so kind and attentive to our 99-year-old, taking the time to ensure she was comfortable and fully enjoying the experience. Meanwhile, Luther took my fiancée and me out with the dogs and gave us an incredible introduction to mushing. We loved hearing his stories and learning about life on the trail. As dog lovers, we can’t recommend this experience enough! Snowmobile Ride with Victoria My fiancée and I also did a one-hour “ski machine” ride with Victoria, who was phenomenal. She had us laughing the whole time and knew just how far to push our speed limits without compromising safety. She even offered us an extra hour as a celebratory gift for our recent engagement, which was such a generous touch. Zipping across a frozen lake, spotting a moose, and taking in the beautiful Alaskan scenery at top speed was an absolute thrill. Shout-Out to Macey and Kat Macey and Kat were also incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our tours. From start to finish, the team at Rod’s Alaskan Guide treated us like family. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Alaskan adventure—complete with dog mushing, snowmobiling, and truly wonderful guides—look no further!

What a rush!!
So much fun. We took the 1hr snowmovile tour. Rod was a great guide. The snowmobiles were very easy to drive (had never been before). It was a huge rush being able to go fast. I got up to 41mph and my hubby over 50mph. It is something we would love to do again.

Lots of fun!!
We had a fantastic time here. We went dog sledding (Lindsay was great). I was even able to stand on the dog sled. It was a lot of fun and somthing I wanted to do for a long time. We also got to pet and play with the dogs. Go first thing in the morning, the dogs are ready to run then. The staff was very helpful making sure you had everything you needed to have a fun trip.

A Fairbanks Highlight
This was the only tour activity that we didn’t book prior to arriving for a week in Fairbanks. We heard how much fun it was while on an aurora photo tour and decided to book it. Very impressed with Rod’s operation. They were efficient and helpful with outfitting us for our snowmobiling adventure. Their equipment is the ultimate in comfort and in tip-top shape. The hand grips were even heated! We were total novices and our guide explained operations thoroughly, then we did a few circles on the practice track before heading out into the woods. The scenery was gorgeous and the ride was fun! Our guide spotted a moose relaxing out in the trees, so we stopped for photos. Believe them when they say it can be bumpy, so if you have serious back problems, don’t. But I am 71 with some joint issues and bad hips and knees and I had a great time. So glad we booked this adventure!

The highlight of our week in Alaska!
Dog sledding was at the top of our list of things to do on our recent trip to Fairbanks. The folks at Rod’s were very friendly. We took a 2 hour ride with Jimmy’s dogs. It was our favorite memory from the trip. Jimmy was a fantastic host; very friendly and informative. He told of how he acquired each dog and how they were named. He took a lot of photos of us with his playful dogs. We highly recommend Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service!

This is definitely a must visit place if near Fairbanks or the surrounding area. Very top-notch service and Catt, Macey, Ashley, Rodney, and Riley were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, snowmobilling that we did, and t hen continued to use their service for a 4 hour fishing tour, and Trevor was a blast to hang out with while doing that. Even was able to get us within about 30 feet of a wild eagle. Unfortunately, I personally didn't get any photos on the snowmobile ride because I was having way too much of a freaking amazing time of my life to take the time for that. Will definitely be back, and will definitely use their services again. Truly amazingly professional group of people.

Awesome 2-hour tour
Very well run business from the moment we walked in. We chatted with the owner Terri would was helping out and we learned that it’s a military veteran owned business with several of the kids on staff. Josh was an excellent tour guide - very friendly and knowledgeable. He spotted moose and an eagle the we would have never seen, and let us stop to take pics. The snowmobiles seemed brand new and were great for tandem or solo. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful experience with Jimmy
We had such a fun time dog sledding with Jimmy and his dogs. The Alaskan Huskies were so adorable and super friendly. It is my second time here and highly recommended!
