Great fun and good stories
Ice fishing was a lot of fun! I have never caught a fish, and my husband hasn’t picked up a fishing pole in over a decade. Mike taught us how to fish and we felt like old pros within a couple minutes. Mike was great- he taught us all about how to drill the holes for ice fishing (and even showed us how), and even set up a camera so we could see fish at the bottom of the lake (be warned… you will be surprised how many fish are down there that refuse to take a bite of the bait!) The cabin was warm and cozy, but we were able to drill some holes outside and fish outside for a couple minutes (for the experience…. Much too cold to do it practically). The reindeer sausage halfway through filled the cabin with amazing smells and was very good. And even though we didn’t catch many fish, everyone had some fish at the end to taste what we had caught. Lots of fun! Bring your own snacks and drinks if you want! Nothing like a nice drink with your fishing. And we saw a bald eagle up close eating our scraps

Adventure and Moose!
We had an absolutely amazing time snowmobiling, definitely one of our favorite activities on the trip. Our guide, Will, was fantastic. He did a great job explaining how to work the snowmobile, and some safety features and communication signals while on the machine (very self explanatory and easy to pick up- for two ppl who have never touched a snow mobile before). We went through a variety of snowmobiling experiences: flat/straight/long stretch where we could get some speed, and small paths through the woods where we could see scenery. It was just gorgeous. And we saw a Moose! ½ way through Will stopped and checked in on all of us and answered our questions/told some great Alaska stories. Honestly would recommend this experience to anyone! Also the heated helmets and heated steering was AWESOME! And their cold gear kept us nice and warm.

We as a big family group did the Ice Fishing, Dog Sledding and the Snow Mobile tour all with Rods. We did it all over three days, with each day a different experience. We would highly recommend these guys. We got to fish and eat our catches when we went ice fishing. We stayed warm and dry in the hut, and the various kids all between 4 and 11 had great fun. They got to play outside when they got bored of fishing and the adults got a little obsessed with the fishing… The Snow Mobile Tour was so good. The machines are easy to ride, and even with experienced off roaders/racers/riders in our group we enjoyed it. The kids got to ride on the back, in seats with arm rests and backrests which was nice. The dog sledding was a very enjoyable experience. While the dogs are just incredible athletes and truly look happy pulling a sled, we got to ride with Matt Hall, who just returned from a second place in the Iditarod 1000 mile race. What an incredible achievement. And we were very thankful to get to ride with him. All in all we had a great time. One of the best trips we have had as a big family. And we travel, a lot……..

Amazing experience with Luther and his team
We had the most amazing time with Luther Buhr and his dog sledding team! He answered all of our questions and clearly loves his pups! Definitely add this one to your bucket list - it's worth every penny :). We did 30 minutes and would have enjoyed longer.

Dog sledding tour much better than I expected.
We had an amazing time at Rod’s during our one hour dog sledding/ mushing tour. Our musher Laura was so nice and friendly. She introduced us to all the dogs and gave us so much information about the dogs and answered all our questions. Her dogs were adorable and we had the best time. Would definitely go back!! I like that the sled is kinda private and we don’t have to share it with other people. Laura made sure our entire tour was comfortable.

Best dog sledding experience ever
Jimmy, Joey, and Deke were outstanding guides! We have been dog sledding multiple other places and this was BY FAR the best!!! My ten-year-old got to drive the sled and said it was “the best day ever!” We will be back! Highly recommend the two hour trip.

Jimmy, Deke and Joey were fabulous
We've done this a few times in different parts of the country, and this was by far the best dog sledding experience ever! Jimmy, Deke and Joey were fantastic tour guides that took care of all 7 of us. They truly love their dog families, and clearly love their jobs. Thanks so much for everything, we will be back!

Tons of fun ice fishing in Alaska!
Ice fishing was so much fun! The guides made the experience enjoyable and entertaining. We caught a trout and a salmon which was delicious to eat for lunch! We even got to see two bald eagles flying over the lake which were beautiful to watch. Thank you for making this experience so memorable!

One of the most peaceful rides i've taken in a very long time. Our trek leader Laura was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgable and passionate about the dogs, and really our experience across the board. These dogs are priceless (shout out to hot pants and the one named after Saturns moon lol). One of the best things i've done in a very long time. Thank you!!!

Fun Experience But Not Worth The Price
The service provided for this experience is excellent but it is not worth the price in my opinion. The ride is only 30 minutes which is very short and the dogs don't even go that fast. Save your money and go for a longer ride elsewhere if you want to go mushing.

Alaska Must Do!
Eleven of us on a friend trip to Alaska chose the 2 hour guided snowmobile trip The whole experience was great. Will was our guide and did an excellent job. He was patient and did a great job making it fun. We saw 3 moose and had a great time. The staff there was great. They assess your current clothing to determine what and if you need their gear. Highly recommend this activity and request Will!!

Awesome dog sledding and snow machine experiences!
We booked 2 separate experiences- both of which were outstanding! In the morning, we did the 2 hour dogsledding experience. Well worth it- you get more trails and more variety than shorter tours, and with 2 hours you get the opportunity to ride the runners with the musher. And- of course- more time with the dogs! Our mushers were Joe W on one sled, and Willoe on the other sled. Both were great, informative and made the experience top-notch for the 3 of us. If you can book 2 hours or at least an hour, go for it. In the afternoon, we went back for a 1-hour snow machining tour. Will did a great job making everyone comfortable, and it was a blast riding the trails, with a nice speedy finish. For both of these- it was our first time- and we’d highly recommend each. Rod’s was easy to work with and supplied the last little bits of gear we needed to stay warm on a day with single digit temperatures.

highlight of our Alaska trip
My family loved seeing the dogs doing their thing. The dogs were all super friendly. Our guide Emily did a great job of educating and answering all of our questions. The shop was fantastic about getting us all geared up and ready.

Beautiful Scenery and Fun!
The staff were all excellent and made sure we had the right gear to stay warm on the trail. Unfortunately, another rider had a fender bender and the end of our trip was cut short and put a damper on things. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, I just wish we could have ended on a positive note or ridden longer.

A nice ride
A very nice place and staff, the snowmobiles are new and perfect condition. The trails are easy to go and the landscape is wonderful! Plus, I also got to see some cute dogs there :)

Would do it again.
This excursion was five stars from start to finish. When you arrive, they have all the gear you need to stay warm. They had hats, scarves, coats, snow pants, boots and gloves. The outside temperature was 15°, but we were warm the whole time. Our ride was with Jimmy’s dogs, and he was a great guide. We rode out 15 minutes and then stopped for pictures. We then turned around and came back. The dogs were friendly and excited to meet us. I would recommend this adventure to all ages.
