Helicopter broke down in the Grand Canyon. Never seen the sunset that we paid extra for. It took 4.5 hours to get back to Vegas on a bus. Company gave us $50 back for the trouble. Gee, thanks. I get it things break, but I figured at a minimum they would refund the ride since we only rode for about 40 min. Thanks

We booked the airplane west rim landing tour with Skywalk. From start to finish the logistics of the tour were excellent. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and taken on 30 minute drive to Boulder City airport. Once there we had about a 45 minute wait until the flight, we were given clear instructions as to the boarding procedure. The airplane was a 9 seater aircraft with a front propeller. We did pay $15 to guarantee a window seat, when actually we didn’t need to as all seats had a window seat. On the flight there was a headset to give tour advice but didn’t use it. The views from the plane were amazing but best to sit on the left hand side of the plane for the views of Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The flight time overall was 30 minutes. Once at the Grand Canyon west rim, we were given clear instructions on how to get around and what time to be back for the flight back. We also received a lunch, which consisted of a turkey roll, pringles, a bag of cookies, sliced apples and water. At west rim, there 3 areas to visit which are accessed via a bus, which stops at each in turn and runs every 10-15 minutes. The first stop is Eagle Point, this is where the Skywalk is. We did pay for the package including the Skywalk. The Skywalk was good but not quite as amazing as we thought it would be. We then went to the second point Guano Point, this is by far the best stop. Here you are able to have a fairly good walk and do some hiking on the rocks. Definitely recommend spending the majority of the time here. The last point, which is the Hualapai Ranch was really not worth the visit - not sure if it’s because we were there off season (December) but we wish we had stayed on the bus. We waited about 1 hour for the flight home but we were kept informed of expected departure. Again the flight time was 30 minutes and bus ride back to our hotel 30 minutes. All in all a really good day and a very well organised tour, with friendly and helpful staff.

Twenty minutes later, another woman came and said we could only fly in those two combinations. My husband and I, of course, had to go separately, since we'd just gotten married the day before. We were furious, but we didn't want to miss the Grand Canyon (and besides, we'd already wasted too much time). We received five free photos as compensation, but that didn't make up for the disappointment. I then flew with my parents, and when we walked to our helicopter and I saw who was flying with us, my jaw dropped. It was a picture of my husband and his mother, identical build and height, with at least a 5 kg difference. That, of course, put me in a terrible mood. After our flights, I went back to the counter and complained in person, but I wasn't taken seriously. They claimed an email had been sent to management or someone. I even had to provide my details again, hoping to get some feedback from Papillon, but to this day, nothing. The pilot was nice, but he couldn't make up for the poor service. Not recommended. Zum Verständnis, wir hatten die Helicopter Tour über den Grand Canyon gebucht und zwar einen Tag nach unserer Hochzeit in Las Vegas mit unseren Eltern. Das Abholen vom Hotel hat soweit alles gut geklappt, dort angekommen lief auch alles soweit noch, bis auf einmal jemand zu uns kam und unsere Gruppe trennen wollte. Waren natürlich nicht begeistert, haben uns das Problem erklären lassen (es ging um die Gewichtsverteilung im Helicopter) und haben dann eingewilligt, haben dann 2 Gruppen gebildet. Nochmal 20 Minuten später kam wieder eine Frau und meinte wir könnten nur in diesen 2 Kombinationen fliegen. Mein Mann und ich natürlich getrennt, nachdem wir gestern geheiratet hatten. Waren stink sauer, wollten uns aber den Grand Canyon nicht entgehen lassen (zum anderen hatten wir so sonst schon zu viel Zeit verloren) Haben zur Entschädigung 5 kostenlose Bilder bekommen, das hat nur nichts entschädigt. Ich bin dann mit meinen Eltern geflogen und als wir zu unserem Helicopter gelaufen sind und ich gesehen habe wer mit uns fliegt ist mit die Kinnlade runtergefallen, eine Abbildung von meinem Mann und seiner Mutter, die gleiche Statur und Größe, Minimum evtl 5 Kg unterschied. Das hat die Laune dann natürlich zum überkochen gebracht. Bin nach unseren Flügen dann nochmal zum Schalter und habe mich persönlich dort beschwert, dort wurde ich nicht wirklich ernst genommen, angeblich wurde eine Email an die Geschäftsleitung oder irgendjemanden geschrieben. Musste auch extra nochmal meine Daten angeben, dachte evtl nochmal Rückmeldung von Papillon zu bekommen, bis heute nichts. Der Pilot war nett, konnte aber den schlechten Service auch nicht wieder gut machen. Nicht zu empfehlen. Einmal und nie wieder.
