It was a good trip overall, but we had a big delay taking off and we did not fly straight to our destination. So, picked up at 06:10 am with kids to arrive at south rim around 11:15 am. This wasn’t our expectation. Also the plane cabin was relatively cold. Pilots were awesome though. We had also the heli option: again pilot was awesome, experience was great. However, heli was relatively old, and one of the ladies at the heli airport reception was too rude. I imagine the trip could be even more attractive with better planing and improved behaviour of reception personnel and some of the bus drivers. Best of it: plane pilots, hummer driver and his tour, heli pilot.

Was an amazing experience! I was really nervous about doing this as i don't do well with heights, but our pilot Doug was amazing! Was a very smooth and enjoyable ride . Doug informed us of many things along the way. We had a great little snack with champagne & water and a little time to walk around and look . Doug even took a couple of pictures for us so my sister and i could be in it together ! All the staff were friendly at the base , and had a very nice shuttle driver from the hotel. My only small criticism is that we never received our digital copy of our photos that we had payed for. My sister had emailed a few times, with the first response answered but the second time not.

Elliot was the best pilot, we had the smoothest takes off and Landings and the best commentary. The scenery talks for itself, the best way to actually digest the magnitude of the Canyon is from the air. The views were amazing. the trip is expensive but I think it is a must do.

Tour Cancelled on me the night before
I was called by the tour operator on the Friday night before and told me the tour is cancelled due to ”helicopter maintenance”. I was told I have to call Viator to get my refund of $618!! I’m going to try to call them and see how that goes.
