We went on the Seiko II. Captain Shawn and Kai provided a most memorable excursion. Both men were knowledgeable about the Nāpali Coast and provided a lot of history. Good mix of going fast and then slowing down to admire the stunning scenery. We saw dolphins and several schools of fish. Great fun and definitely a must do when visiting Kaua’i.

We went on the NaPali coast tour and had a great experience! The crew and Makana were great and provided a lot of interesting stories about the history of Kauai. We are able to snorkel and even saw a turtle! Would recommend.

It was great experience, the crew was awesome and very informational. They took thier time to show us every possible wild life and up close encounters. Lunch was great and crew makes it special by providing everything you need with absolute beautiful backdrop of Na Pali coast. Definitely worth the money.

Beautiful day out on the water! Friendly staff and Captain did a great job piloting us thru the waves and caves! My only suggestion is to upgrade your audio system…. Extremely difficult to hear the narration. Gorgeous time and even had whales up close and personal.

Makana took my wife and I on an incredible tour of the stunning Nā Pali Coast. Although the day was sunny and a perfect 80 degrees, the strong winds made the waters rough at times. Makana handled the challenging conditions with skill and confidence, and not once did we feel unsafe. Along the way, we were lucky enough to see turtles and whales, which made an already amazing trip even more unforgettable. Highly recommend Makana Charters!

This “cruise” (Amelia K) was not as described or expected. The Captain and crew were very kind and helpful - and the vessel was clean and beautiful. If you are looking for quiet, peaceful, “smooth and stable” outing - this would not be a good choice. If you like speed and the excitement of fast, hard and constant movement, drops and ocean spray - this would be a great choice - unless you are prone to motion sickness. I have been on the water countless times in small speed boats to cruise ships and have never been sick - until this trip. Fortunately, the crew was prepared to help a few of us with barf bags, paper towels and a hose to clean up messes on the deck floor. My husband really enjoyed it and it seemed like the majority did. If you are looking for a wild ride and more of a party boat feel - this would be a great choice. More information on the website would help people make an informed decision in choosing such an expensive outing. Advertising a smooth and stable trip - without explaining that may not be always be the case is very misleading. I heard one passenger tell a crew member that she felt scared - she also ended up very sick and I suspect that wasn’t the trip she was looking for either.

We went on the 2PM charter on April 21, 2026 and it was a great time to go on a great tour boat. If you are going to Kaui a boat tour on the Amelia K is the best thing you can do on the island. The boat is large enough to be very comfortable but the capin put it into unbelievable spots along the cliffs of Napali. I cannot say enough about how good the crew was by knowing how to treat everyone very special. If you do a tour with Makana Tours you will not be dissapointed.

Amazing tour of the Na Pali coast on the Na Pali Kai III. In addition to a great rour of the coast and its features, we rode alongside pods of spinner and bottlenose dolphins.

This is the second charter company we’ve used to tour the Na’pali coast. (The first time we used Holo.) It was beautiful as usual and fortunately, we went on a clear day. The weather was great, the water was a bit choppy which made for some mild roller coaster riding (think Splash Mountain at Disney). We wore long sleeves or a t-shirt because it was a little chilly when you go a little bit faster. We were sprayed with water a few times. The boat was very clean and comfortable. It was a catamaran, just under 50’ long. About 35 guests. My family of 6 sat in the front bench which was great. It was not shaded, but we had the front row seat which was great for photos. The guides were very kind, helpful and funny. They shared great info about history and really took the time to stop and look at the wildlife. There were a couple of times that we were surrounded by a large pod of dolphins. Sadly, I would give 4.5 stars because the lunch was lackluster (ran out of chips and no cookie or sweet). Plenty of drinks (water, Pepsi, aloha fruit drinks). And snorkeling was disappointing (we saw around a dozen little fish), BUT we saw a whale, 100s of dolphins (2 types), sea turtles, flying fish and lots of birds from the boat. we weren’t able to go into the caves the captain “stuck his nose in” (which is why I chose this boat tour because it’s a slightly smaller boat and has a good chance of going in depending on weather), we were able to see a bit of them and get really close to the coast. It was a beautiful trip and a great memory!
