It was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to everyone as the crew on the boat and the amenities were perfect. Captain Mike was great and his two crew members were fantastic as well. The sites were amazing from the boat and as choppy as the water was the crew made us feel safe and it was still an enjoyable experience.

Our Na Pali Coast charter with Makana was hands-down one of the highlights of our trip. We’ve done a larger boat tour in the past, but the smaller catamaran made this experience feel so much more personal and immersive—it’s absolutely the way to go. Our captain was an absolute pro, confidently navigating the coastline and handling the water like it was nothing. We were able to get into three sea caves, which was incredible and something we never could have done on a bigger boat. On top of that, we saw tons of spinner dolphins up close—such a cool bonus. The crew really made the trip special. They were friendly, attentive, and full of great stories and local history that added so much depth to what we were seeing. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. Highly recommend Makana Charters if you want a more intimate, adventurous Na Pali experience.

Mike and his crew were fantastic. The boat and the accommodations were first class and the experience was spectacular. They bring a native Hawaiian flavor to the whole adventure and had all the finishing touches from custom-made lunches and unique cultural insights. Highly recommend this experience.

Great experience; better than excepted! The view of the island is breathtaking. The captain and staff - professional, humorous, and educational mix was excellent. I was nervous and they made me feel safe and made it so much fun! It was worth every penny spent. You will tip well because they deserve it.

We enjoyed our ride! Makana was our captain and he was an excellent tour guide. The crew on board were friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the Hawaiian culture and landscape. Remember to pack a towel...the water was pretty calm for us but there was still a bit of spray at times. An excellent way to explore the sea caves and beaches inaccessible by land!

Makana Charters was an AMAZING experience. Both my partner and me have seen some beautiful places in the world and the Na Pali coast from the sea ranks high on our list. Makana Charters specifically was great! Free NA beverages, midday sandwiches and chips, VERY personable, knowledgeable, and approachable guides, and a boat with enough room for about 33 of us. We appreciated the fact that the business is family owned. The captain, Makana, was funny and loaded with information about what we were seeing (history, folklore, pop culture). The boat gets really up close and personal with the cliffs which is awesome and we had a nice snorkel outing for about 45 minutes (not on the Na Pali coast bc conditions weren't ideal). Just FYI a couple people did get sea sick as the boat really gets going at times, but they help you with that. Highly recommended!!

Wow! What a day! The crew was so welcoming and knowledgeable. We enjoyed whale and dolphin watching, seeing the gorgeous coast, and snorkeling all while learning about the history of the island. I would highly recommend this adventure, but definitely bring a towel for snorkeling, perhaps another layer if you tend to get chilly, and prepare to get wet along the way. Great team who worked very well together. Knowledgeable of the area, the excursion, the sea life and provided very clear expectations. It was not just exciting but beautiful and adventurous. I think Makana enjoyed drenching us in the fountain of youth. I absolutely loved it!! Kana and Liliana were also fun and engaging. I loved how down to earth and less commercialized the experience was. Mahalo!!!!
