(Translated by Google) This place is amazing. The koalas and kangaroos are so relaxing. It's also a koala sanctuary, and is said to have the largest number of koalas in Australia. There are over a dozen koalas on display, and you can feed and touch the kangaroos as much as you like. It's only a short hour's bus ride from Brisbane Centre, so if you're in Brisbane, you won't regret visiting.

My recent visit was nothing short of amazing! The live shows were captivating, and the grounds and enclosures were impeccably clean. The staff welcomed everyone with genuine friendliness, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights was the abundance of koalas, which was both heart-warming and heart-breaking. While it’s a joy to see these iconic creatures up close, it’s distressing to know that many are there because their natural habitats are under threat. In particular, Redland City Council has come under scrutiny for approving the clearing of vast areas of koala habitat. According to reports from the Queensland Koala Crusaders and conservation organisations, such habitat destruction leads to increased cases of injury, starvation, and diseases among koalas (Queensland Koala Crusaders, 2024). It is disheartening that in an era of heightened environmental awareness, decisions continue to be made that jeopardise the future of these national treasures. The actions of the Redland City Council serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stronger conservation efforts to protect Australia’s beloved wildlife. Thank goodness for the sanctuary who do such an incredible job raising awareness and caring for the wildlife.

We took the Miramar boat to the sanctuary and Robbie and the crew were awesome. The commentary in the way about the river was great. The park itself was fantastic, up close to the animals and the way the place is keep was A1. Watch out for the birds if you get food as they are not shy to grab it out of your hands. Or off your plate. The kangaroo free feeding is amazing being amongst so many Roos. My daughter loved the pop up window in the croc pond that was great fun.

What a magical place along the Brisbane River! As the largest and oldest koala sanctuary, it’s not just about seeing animals—it’s about conservation and welfare, which are clearly at the heart of everything they do. Everyone I met was genuinely passionate about their work, and the energy was infectious. You can’t help but feel uplifted and curious to learn more about koalas and the many other animals they care for and rehabilitate. I booked the Koala Discovery Tour and had the pleasure of having Ruth as my guide. Not only did I get a full hour with her all to myself, but she was also an incredible wealth of knowledge—patiently answering all my questions and sharing fascinating insights. I even got to spend one-on-one time with the koalas, which was an unforgettable highlight. Beyond the koalas, there’s so much more to experience. The dingoes were fascinating to observe, Cockie the cockatoo was an absolute character, and the kangaroos were so relaxed (and softer than I expected!). Feeding the lorikeets was pure joy. Overall, my experience was nothing short of wonderful. If you plan on visiting more than once, an Annual Membership is a smart choice—it includes 10% off food and merchandise too. I’ll definitely be back soon, and I’m especially excited for the Nocturnal Tour this Friday at 5pm

I'm a local & always enjoy a visit to Lone Pine. Lovely sanctuary that provides a great experience that isn't too expensive. The semi-bushland setting always adds to it charm.

A great place for parents and kids alike. I had the best time with my daughter and two 3; year old twin grandsons feeding the kangaroos and getting up close and personal to the koala. A wonderful day out.
