It’s such a nice experience with all the cute animals here! They are handed nicely by the staff. You can just buy the ticket there for $50 and you can enjoy walking in a nature.

This so called tourist attraction is in need of a serious facelift in so many ways. This review will come across as negative but my wish is for it to be taken as constructive criticism because, as a Brisbane resident who loves our city, I want our soon to be Olympic city to have tourist venues that project as world class. Today I took three relatives from Asia as tourists to the venue as they wanted to hold a Koala. Having just returned from a 6 week European trip, I can only say that this venue falls so far short of what tourists would expect. I note many positive reviews on the website but I would suggest that many just don't bother to write them. The positives are the well trained birds and presenters of the Raptor show, although the presenters need to appreciate that the majority of the audience are tourists to our country and consequently have varied English comprehension skills and talking through a poor quality microphone and sound system using a quickly spoken Aussie accent makes most of the commentary impossible for most to have any clue as to what was being said. The tour through the enclosures was embarrassingly low quality. The place was barren, dry, with emptiness everywhere, including the actual native animal enclosures where we were hoping to show our guests some wombats, perhaps a tassie devil or platypus, or a dingo? Sadly, none were around. And whats the go with sheep and pigs - they are hardly native to Australia? Then when we got to the sleeping Koalas, it was not permitted to touch them let alone hold them (understand this change though), unless you paid a further fee - over and above the exorbitant $50 approx that you pay to enter. The "shows" are spaced apart though, so unless you allow most of the day at the site, you may miss them. The general cafe area is tired also, overpriced and in desperate need of a facelift. I am not sure who manages Lone Pine, but whoever does, there needs to be a significant lift in the offer before the people arrive in there millions. Finally, there is the "speedy" 70 min river cruise back to the city for $40. Bet that isn't full very often.. C'mon Brissy - raise the bar

You can see koalas resting and sleeping in various cute positions — they’re absolutely adorable! 🐨 You can also feed the kangaroos, though they don’t eat as eagerly as expected (one portion is enough to share among several people).

Lovely place, shame we didn't see all the animals. Nocturnal ones obviously sleep during the heat of the day.

I spent a lot of money here for the koala and platypus experiences, in addition to the entry fee. The stars are based on the value for the money. The sanctuary is great and the $2 kangaroo feeding, seeing a Tasmanian devil, and Major Mitchell (the friendliest bird) was a nice surprise. If you come here to spend time at the sanctuary allot a few hours. The koala encounter was very quick. We were not able to get a nice family photo which I wish they tried to do for the price we spent. You get to pet the koala’s butt but no holding or feeding. The Steve Irwin Zoo allows you to hold the koala. The platypus experience was a waste of money. We didn’t see a platypus and were kept being promised an exciting experience but we were taken to the back to clean dirt off worms the throw the worms into a tank. The platypus did not eat the worms or show itself. The other platypus was sleeping and so we literally didn’t see anything. I regret spending money on this. The gift shop was very nice and had a lot of cool things to buy. If I had to do it again, I would do the Steve Irwin zoo to get a more hands on koala encounter.
