Had a great experience today at Lone Pine, even on a hot day there were still plenty of animals out and about to see and lots of shaded areas to walk around. Highlights were seeing the platypus being fed in the morning and of course feeding the kangaroos. Also learnt a lot from a lovely employee named Ella who gave some great facts about the Tassie Devils and the Platypus

More business style operation, and less wild life style operation. More expansive tickets, and less maps and road /show instructions for visitor's convenient. More advertisement for hug Koala, and less contact with Koala only could use finger to touch and stand beside the tree. Suitable for the international guests and stranger firstly come to Brisbane and QLD for one time visit. As a Queenslander who have good experience with Old Lone Pine park before, will not come back again.

(Translated by Google) This is an ideal place to see Australian wildlife. To have your picture taken with the koalas, you have to book well in advance (I couldn't)... I think I read that it's now prohibited. I did manage to get a ticket to pet them while my husband took a picture of me.

Never go there on a windy day because you will not be allowed to touch the kangaroos but have to pay the same expensive price.

Lone Pine is a very short drive from Brisbane CBD and is a perfect place for a family outing. The koalas are plentiful, hanging from the branches, nibbling on the young eucalyptus leaves, sleeping in impossible positions, and generally being cute and cuddly. There are some Tasmanian Devils and a couple of Platypuses that you generally don't see in many wildlife sanctuaries. Feeding the kangaroos is a great experience, so are the free barn animals tours. The general admission ticket gets you into most of the areas. However, the Koala experience is overhyped and is not worth the money you pay. The last animals enclosure, the nocturn animals enclosure, is also a waste of time since it closes for general public at 4 pm, and none of the animals in the enclosure want to brave the afternoon sun. The paid tour might be worthwhile but we didn't stay to check. The food and drinks are priced well, but the gift shop is horribly overpriced. You'd do well to buy the same stuff from shops in Brisbane Queen Street Mall. Overall, great experience for the family.

(Translated by Google) Expensive for what it is; you can see everything very quickly. I only spent two hours there, even though I spent a lot of time with the kangaroos. There aren't many animals, and it's not a sanctuary but a zoo. As for the koalas, there are plenty, but again, it's a quick visit. I would have preferred to keep my $54.
