I have been a member since in high school twenty years ago. I've seen the zoo transform and become better over time. Now as a mom, my children enjoy it. The entrance is expensive without the membership if you frequent often. I have been to other zoos across the nation. The Houston zoo still has a while to go before becoming epic but it has gotten so much better. I enjoy it and will continue to support it.

The zoo is always a great day. They have a large range of animals. They have lots of different terrain so you definitely get your exercise. They have accommodations for families and the disabled with strollers, wheelchairs, and electric wheelchair. I love that they offer free days to support the community.

Great place to spend at least 2,3 hours. Usually we spend around 4. Highly recommend for locals and whoever comes to visit.

This zoo is so nice! There is a ton of shade on the walkways, and the exhibits for the animals were pretty spacious compared to other zoos. They had drainage issues in the aquatic area when we went this past weekend so the penguin exhibit was closed unfortunately. The capybaras were definitely the highlight for me. You do need to purchase your tickets online prior.

If anyone is visiting Houston, the Houston Zoo should be on their top to-do list! It has so many attractions and night events for kids and adults!
