Updated zoom. Worth bringing the family. A little expensive from years back but still worth it.

Whats the point of reserving a time spot, and putting on the site you can come anytime after, just to not have parking? All the free parking was full but they were still letting people in the lots. Asked a security where else to park, and said all the lots were full. We spent 2 hours looking for parking because of insane traffic. We only stay because tickets were $42 non-refundable. We eventually parked at the museum parking garage which was $28...You would think there wouldn't be a line to get in since they only have to scan a barcode on your phone, but it was. Not too many animals to see either. Didn't feel like the same zoo i experienced as a kid or even last year. Also this was Spring Break on a Friday. Tickets were for 9am got in the area at 10am. Didnt get to the zoo until 12pm.

I've been coming here since I was a small child-for decades. What has happened to this place? Astronomical ticket prices and hardly an animal in sight. It wasn't even a hot day. No bears, no tigers, few birds, empty exhibits. Ridiculously OVERCROWDED with almost no parking available. It took over an hour to find parking. If I could give it zero stars I would. If there's a new person in charge, GET RID OF THEM. A horrible experience. I will never go back. Quite sad for Houston area children. Appalling. Silly me I thought the high ticket prices were to cut down on overcrowding. NOPE. Just greed if the sad brown exhibits that used to be green are any indication. Neglected. Tired. Overpriced.

The exhibits were all updated and looked great. Food is terribly expensive, we spent on $110 on pizza and 3 sandwiches!

Parking at the zoo is extremely ridiculous. I purchased tickets for 9 a.m. and spent an hour trying to find parking. It’s crazy that you have to purchase tickets beforehand, but when you arrive there is nowhere to park, and you can’t get a refund if you leave.
