Second time being here, just to give a second chance. Our first time really sucked. We had just got in right before 3 pm and they were closing by 4 pm. We had checked and saw they were closing at a later time. We bought tickets for the carousel! Since we had to leave, we complained and tickets to come back at a later day, "any time in 6 months" we went on December but the tickets will expire in April, sooo where exactly are the 6 months? We enede up going during the Spring Break weekend. The Carousel was not working and it seemed it has been like that for a big time (months). Which means we ended up loosing the carousel tickets. I am not sure if it is Houston, but some employees had such an attitude like they don't wanna be there. We had eaten before going into the zoo, otherwise expect high prices for food!

It’s been years since I’ve been to Houston Zoo but it has definitely built up compared to what it was. The temperature for us was perfect. It has some great exhibits.

It's meh, if you go during low peak, good luck seeing any animals. If you go during the free entrance days, it's just over packed and everyone there is disrespectful.

Exceptionally enjoyable. Really tidy. I personally can't understand how this isn't the number one zoo in Texas; compared to San Antonio which is exceptionally over-rated, this was a world-class experience. Friendly staff, happy animals, great enclosures and very informative. Would recommend highly.

Houston Zoo is amazing. Plan accordingly. Its a big place. You can bring your own cooler...... a little secret. They do have really good options though when it comes to food and beverages. Plenty of water stations. The intersection with animals is anywhere from a couple of feet and six inches of glass. Get there early parking can be tough. Overall great experience.
