It's a good spot for the kids, BUT WATCH YOUR KIDS outside of the gates. People don't know how to drive and nobody pays attention and also a lot of homeless walk around outside of the zoo gates along the trails. Just keep your kids with you at all times. The zoo itself is AWESOME. Lots of great animals, lots of things to see and do. Food prices aren't bad and it's big enough and spacious enough to where you aren't bows to bows with others. Bring water!! Sunscreen. But spray and enjoy your day. Also!!! GET A MEMBERSHIP. Spending 167 a year for the five of us vs 187 a night for the five of us made zero sense.

Im really disappointed that they took away all the aviaries, no more hornbills, turacos, macaws and even the St vincent amazons, all gone. The beautiful walking aviary with the imperial pigeons gone. And they added an aviary with texas birds, if I wanted to see a blue Jay and a house finch, I have plenty of those at home. That new CEO made lots of changes, is really sad 😔

I hadn't been in a few years but the food is way better than I remember. I went on a busy Sunday and the lines weren't too bad anywhere in the zoo. Can't wait to go back with my family.
