The Empire State Building Observatory is an amazing place to visit and one of the most famous landmarks in New York City. When you go up to the observatory, you get a breathtaking view of the city from above. You can see tall skyscrapers, busy streets, and even far into the distance on a clear day.

The building and the museum have been impressively beautiful and the views too, in addition to the fact that they had heating in the open areas BUT the staff was HORRIBLE AND THE WORST they treated EVERYONE BADLY and with contempt, they spoke in a bad tone to everyone and with arrogance, that or they didn't even look you in the face.

The Art Deco style, the rich history, and the views all make for a great experience!
Come for the views, and stay for the Art Deco beauty, and the well done history lesson. The entire experience can provide detailed history and superb views. You can breeze through if you want to get to the views, or take your time and learn about the social impact and importance of this iconic building. If you are in a hurry, you can purchase an express pass. If you have more time, save that money, and pay the lesser ticket price to see all three observation decks. We even went in on the lunch deal offered by a nearby restaurant!

It's amazing and historic. It's probably in almost all the movies based in NY in one way or another, and to be there is awe inspiring. You just have to do it to tick it off the list - we went at nighttime to have a look over the city in darkness and it was mesmerising.

Top of the Empire State Building at Christmas
This was a landmark we always wanted to see while in New York so booked in advance through Viator. The amount was taken the day before and the tickets then issued. We paid £319 for 3 of us. We had not managed to get up the rest of the observation attractions due to the weather so was pleased when they advised it was still open. We chose vip which included fast track while getting to the lifts. This proved to be a good option as it was quite busy. The lift to the 1st observation deck had a video showing the construction taking place which was a really fun touch. The staff in there were very helpful and got people moving along. The sights from this deck were amazing. It had been snowing so it would have been better on a clearer day but we still got to see the buildings close by and could just make out Liberty. With VIP you can also go to the 102nd floor where once again the views were amazing. Would definitely recommend going the extra few floors. All in all a great attraction to see while in New York and we would definitely recommend it.
