Skip the line Vatican Tour

Skip the line Vatican tour isn't really a full skip. There are many other groups outside the Vatican museum all entering every half hour under the guise of skipping the line. Yes, you don't have to wait on line for tickets but it does take a half hour to get in. Our tour of the Vatican museums was between 2.5 and 3 hours as promised. We had a very knowledgeable tour leader with a background in archeology and history. Unfortunately her accent was a little too heavy to fully understand her though the headsets during the tour. What they don't tell you is that the tour guide doesn't come in with you into the Sistine Chapel at the end. We were told that the tour leaders can't talk within the chapel. This was a huge disappointment for me, since it is tge highlight of tge tour. Instead we were told we could read about the chapel while in there though a suggested website. I dont think it was worth the price for a shorter line and a tour of the Vatican museums without the Sidtine Chapel, even if it is true about other groups. It is fully disclosed that you're fully on your own to go to St Peter's Basilica after the tour.

Stressfull

Viator sent me two messages to print off my voucher after I'd done it - but this was stressful suggesting that my application was not complete We queued one hour not really skipping anything. The guide was enthusiastic but difficult to understand at times due to thick Italian accent.

Tour guide Catalina is amazing!

We had the absolute pleasure of touring the Vatican with Catalina, and it was hands down the best tour we’ve ever experienced. So glad we did this! Our guide was amazing and not only was the tour wonderful, but having her navigate us through the crowds was so helpful. Cannot recommend this enough!

Disappointing

The experience wasn’t clearly described. The tour didn’t include St Peter’s basilica , which it was advertised - which was very disappointing. The tour started at 9.30 . It took a long time to get into the Vatican and then we had a group talk from Raf where we looked at photos from her iPad . She was knowledgeable - but I was keen to actually see something in the museum. At 11.15 we were still there - and then there was a big wait while some went to the toilets. So almost : hours in and we had seen nothing in the museum. We can look at pictures from the internet in our own time . Bear in mind that the museum was getting more and more packed the more time she wasted. We left the group at 11.30 / completely frustrated by the experience and she did say that we wouldn’t be visiting St Peter’s . For 200 euros for 2 of us I considered that a complete waste of time and money .

We had the best guide - Georgio. He made the tour so interesting and we loved every minute. The Colosseum arena was amazing. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Ask for Eddy. He’s the best and he has infinite knowledge and energy. We spent two days with him and would have done a third if we had the time.

Ciao is a very good Guide

Ciao was our tour guide on the 20th March. As we were very interested in the seeing the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. She explained everything very well and made it more interesting than it already was. I would highly reccommend het as a tour guide.

Not satisfied

Our guide Alesia was good and entertaining kept me awake . The worst part is looking for the meeting place if you came or you came from St Peter’s square it’s hard to find . And everything was quick and fast . If you want to enjoy and have enough time better to do our own visiting the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel.

A visit not to be missed!

This was one of the highlights of our visit to Rome. A beautiful church with outer courtyard. Then inside, to a fascinating visit underground to step back in time! Down to the 4th century basilica then down again to the first century excavations!! Unbelievable maze of rooms!

WOW! Such an amazing and informative your. Our tour guide really knew her information and she really kept you intrigued with everything. The Vatican and Sistine Chapel are a must see. So much beautiful art and history. MUST BOOK IF YOU ARE IN ROME!!

The tour guide helped bring the experience to life, being an uneducated heathen myself, I did not understand the artistic and religious context behind a lot of sights. The dude was pretty funny too. Best experience we had in Rome.

Perfect tour of the Vatican with our guide Martina

I’ve never been disappointed on a Viator tour and I have taken many tours with Viator in many different countries! Let’s start with our guide Martina…AMAZING, knowledgeable, funny and I feel like we hit the jackpot with her as our guide. Don’t hesitate to book this tour, because if you wait to buy your tickets when you arrive at the Vatican, you can be in line for hours! Our group consisted of 8 ppl, which for me was less stressful than being in a large group.

Sistene Chapel Vatican Museum Tour

Our guide Alissia gave us some interesting insights about the Sistene Chapel ceiling and also about Raphael’s comtemporaneus frescos which made the experience much more meaningful. The sound system was in good working order and the 2 people in the group with hearing aids were able to understand the presentation. Well worth the time and $ investment. No line either

Vatican Museum Guided Tour

We had Loreley as our guide for the Vatican museum tour. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour so interesting with her descriptions. Loreley’s English was very good, always paused for questions and to check in to make sure we were all ok as it was very warm and lasted 2.5 hours. Organisation was great from booking and initial meeting. Totally recommend.
