Frankie is the best! My friend and I had never rented bikes before or ever used e-bikes and Frankie was so patient with us and explained all the safety features really well. We didn’t even have a reservation, we were just walk-ins and she made the process really smooth. Her recommendations for routes and food were also really helpful and delicious! Would totally rent from here again the next time I’m in SF.

We had the BEST day touring San Francisco with our Dandyhorse SF bikes! We live in San Francisco, but have an exchange student, and we wanted to show him the city by bike. The only problem.. my husband and I weren't going to make it all around this crazy, steep-hill-filled city without some help. Enter Dandyhorse. Frankie helped us figure out the best rental options for ourselves, got us equipped with everything we would need, and did a quick tutorial on how to use and lock up the bikes, and threw in some tips and tricks for navigating hills and prolonging the battery life. As we were all new to e-bikes, this was incredibly helpful. In Frankie's capable hands, we felt prepared for our adventures. We rented their standard e-bikes for three of us and one performance XL for my son who is 6'5". The bikes were powerful and comfortable. We rode for 5.5 hours and still had 2/5 battery charge left! We did some major hills, which did require some effort, but not enough to break a sweat. They were easy to lock up when we took bathroom breaks. I loved that there were phone mounts on the bikes, as well as drink holders, cargo racks on the back and baskets on the front. You do sit in a very upright position, which I personally love for a day of cruising around the city. At the end of our tour, Frankie quickly checked us in and we were on our way home.. to pass out. Ha! In hindsight, we would probably upgrade all of us to the performance bikes the next time we do such a long ride. The seats are a little cushier and the battery assist goes from 0-5 instead of the 0-4 that the standard ebikes offer. Don't get me wrong, the standard bikes were totally sufficient, but now that I got a taste of power, I want more! Oh, and since they make it so easy to ride your bike ALL day, may I suggest that you remember to apply sunblock? And if it's a chilly day, bring gloves or rent them from Dandyhorse. We didn't need them on our sunny day of touring, but they are nice to have on cooler days, as it gets windy near the ocean and on the Golden Gate Bridge.

We would do this tour again. Our guide Eli was amazing very kind and patient and seemed to enjoy his job. He also kept us safe. I wish there could be a little better sound on the audio equipment, but it did not detract from the tour and Eli made sure to repeat anything we missed.

support smaller businesses is my go to. and out of all the rental places i have used, this one is the winner. superb bike selection and their model i picked made riding so easy. we were helped by eli who’s customer service made our experience excellent.

Eli was our AMAZING tour guide showing us everything we could imagine and more! This was the best way to start the trip and gave us a great lay of the land. Eli was really good with our 12 & 10 year old boys and they recount this as one of their favorite memories of the trip.

I had an awesome experience with this rental hike service. Everything was smooth from start to finish — the booking process was easy, the gear was clean and high quality, and the whole setup made the trip stress-free. But honestly, what made it amazing was Frankly. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Super friendly, knowledgeable about the trails, and genuinely cared that we had a great time. How much She gave helpful tips, made sure our equipment was properly fitted, and checked in to see how everything went afterward. That kind of service is rare.

Had a great time renting e-bikes from here. There were many different free routes recommended by Frankie and we had a great time doing the all-city one. Also was able to hear a lot of cool history about the city from Frankie here. She made sure my little brother and I had an amazing time by giving us fully charged bikes since she knew we would be doing a long bike ride. The route she recommended was amazing.

I had an amazing time on this bike ride! The E Bikes made it easy to get around and San Francisco had a ton of bike lanes and safe streets. I felt safe the entire time. The ride through the Presidio provided one of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen.

Had an absolutely amazing time riding with Eli today on the tour! It was great to learn more about San Francisco’s history as well as see some sights. Biking halfway across the Gold Gate Bridge was definitely a highlight. The only thing about the tour that needs that needs some improvement is the microphone audio— at times it was difficult to hear because the sound was so fuzzy. But everything about the route and guide were fantastic, and the donut shop stop was a real treat!
