Expect more of the history of this castle than dracula/vampire stuff. The building and the history itself was interesting and lots of stairs to climb within the castle and to the castle. You can buy the ticket from the ticket machines as well without a line.

Some of the rooms in the castle feel gimmicky. I would go early in the morning or after 2:00 pm because it can get very busy. There are very small rooms that can get crowded quickly.

The grounds are lovely, and have great views. Clearly it is a must see if you are in Transylvania. Unfortunately the castle itself is not a great visit, with a poor layout, random information boards, and largely inconsiderate visitors. It is also extremely expensive by Romanian standards, including the shop which was about 60% more expensive for the same drinks than the convenience store just outside.

What was the hype about, what was the point going here? I get that the dracula thing was just a rumour back then, but it's just not it. If there's a longer line to get into the castle I DO NOT recommend going in it at all. The whole interior is made very poorly, the story seems like nothing ever even happened and don't come close thinking about buying the torture room tickets, it is quite literally two rooms: in one they don't even allow you to come in, the second is just a projector with a film turned on... Truly a terrible experience i had, the amount of people was also leading to a negative view and overall I was truly disappointed.

I really liked it, but I was disappointed with the interior. I expected a majestic castle, but instead I found static, uniform rooms. The only rooms that recall the Dracula legend are rooms with scary mannequins. The castle is well preserved, but it's not a castle I would recommend. (Original) Abbiamo visitato questo castello in un giorno feriale e non abbiamofatto molta coda per entrare, ho voluto visitarlo per il suo legame con la storia del conte Dracula. Da furori mi è piaciuto molto, sono rimasta delusa dell'interno, mi aspettavo un castello maestoso e invece ho trovato stanze statiche e tutte uguali. Le unixhe stanzw che richiamano alla leggenda si Dracula sono stanze con manichini paurosi. Il castello é ben conservato ma non è un Castello che consiglierei.
