Great guides, beautiful countryside. Time in the castle seemed too brief and not many rooms seen - just a few of the 200 in Neuschwanstein. Beautiful.

Dimitri and Miles were the best! Really easy and enjoyable! The walk is long and hot and I’m fit. The castle tour is short and not very interesting. It’s nice, but not mind blowing.

The views are spectacular! Once you are at the top you can have a lunch at the restaurant and enjoy the magnificent landscape, but since I skipped the museum (been to enough NS centers in my life), there wasn’t anything else to do. So, you don’t get to move much. However, most importantly, the tour and the guide’s focus on Hitler’s biography was disturbing. You could almost sense a subtle fascination about his life - apparently he loved his mother very much and his favorite tea was fennel... The guide is VERY knowledgeable and clearly able to answer any questions you may have. But the focus of the tour could have been richer if the told stories were more about socio-cultural aspects and why his agenda succeeded with the Germans, how he built relationships with other politicians, how key historical decisions were made, basically how politics was done. Otherwise, a good tour, and you also get to learn a bit about Munich on the way back which was very helpful.

Bea was an incredibly kind and knowledgeable tour guide, especially when it came to the history of Hitler and the Eagle’s Nest. She shared a lot of interesting information throughout the tour, which made the experience much more engaging. There was an additional €37 fee for the special bus, elevator access, and museum entry, so overall the tour costs close to €100 in total. If you are looking for breathtaking views of the Alps together with historical information about Hitler and his mountain retreat, then this tour is definitely worth it. Otherwise, the price may feel a bit expensive.
