Enjoyed the eating with locals izakaya tour!

Sandra was great and took us to non-touristy neighborhood for izakaya experience. Went to 2 places and had variety of food and drinks. Yakitori and other local specialties. She was very friendly and knowledgeable! Recommend!

5 Star Experience!

We had an absolutely incredible food tour in Tokyo with Ema from Arigato Travel, and it was hands down one of the best experiences of our entire trip! The evening started with a thoughtful tea tasting, which set the perfect tone and made the whole tour feel so well planned. From there, Ema took us to a wonderful local Japanese restaurant, followed by another authentic spot where we enjoyed both cold and hot udon noodles. Ema has such a gift for making you feel welcome — he took the time to learn our likes and dislikes, then ordered for us with perfect intuition every single time. After dinner, he treated us to a delicious dessert and then took us to the most amazing view and park at the top of Ginza 6. Throughout the evening, Ema shared fascinating cultural insights that made everything so much richer — like how slurping noodles is customary and that you should never pour your own sake because it's considered bad luck. He was patient, never rushed us, and made us feel like we were exploring Tokyo with a good friend. Ema is a true five-star guide in every sense — kind, smart, funny, worldly, and such a joy to spend time with. We laughed, learned, and ate incredibly well. Great underground tour

We went on the Tokyo Underground Tour to do something a bit different as we've been to Tokyo quite a lot of times and also we live in APAC so the kids were familiar with Japanese food. It was great, a combo of history, architecture and food. Really recommended. The guide, Chris, integrated the kids into the tour in a great way and gave them fun challenges to do as we walked and honestly feel know Tokyo, the underground and the city much better now. And great food of course.

Great experience with a great guide

We had a wonderful food tour in Osaka with Melissa. She was very informative, knowledgeable, and interesting. We felt like we were out for the evening with a new friend! Shigeki did the best! Temple visit. Wandering seamlessly at so many food stalls. A bit of lecturing about the history. And, of course, the food! Started with a small cooked nosh. And then integrated walking and eating!

Excellent introduction to Osaka Street Food

This tour gave an excellent exposure to the street food in Osaka. We sampled a range of dishes and Japanese sweets on the tour. Our guide Keataro was brilliant, and shared many anecdotes and little known facts about Osaka with us. He was particularly helpful in choosing the dishes for my wife who is a vegetarian.

Best food tour ever!

We had an amazing time with jane. The food was phenomenal and we really enjoyed her company and all the tips, tricks, do‘s and don‘ts she described to us. There just wasn‘t enough time so we will definetly come back! Thx again for the unforgettable experience.

Fantastic food tour of Shibuya

We did the best of Shibuya food tour with Jane. It was fantastic. Jane is so friendly and helpful, with so much local knowledge, history, tradition and food preparation. We ate so much, and in places we would never find without her. The sushi was to die for! We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Excellent tour off the beaten path

This review is a long time coming. I did a private tour of Yanaka and it was lovely from start to finish. My guide, Satoko, was very personable. I was fascinated by both the history of Yanaka and contemporary Japanese culture overall. She was happy to answer my questions and was so much fun to talk to as we strolled through the streets of this quaint neighborhood. Often, tours can take you to shops that are tourist traps, but that wasn't the case here. Every shop and vendor we visited clearly was a staple to the local community. I mentioned to Satoko that I was hoping to buy a couple bottles of aged sake for my husband and she went out of her way to help me find a local store and communicated with the shopkeeper what I was looking for. I highly recommend this tour for people looking to see a side of Tokyo often overlooked.
