We had a great time with Olivia on our food tour. We were lucky enough to be the only people on tour that night which felt very special! There was an abundance of food and Olivia even purchased treats for us to take home. We also learned about history of Gion and Ponto-cho and a bit about Geiko and Maikos too. All in all, an incredible time, thanks again Olivia!

My wife and I went on quite the foodie adventure in Sugamo. Our tour guide Claire was outgoing and extremely knowledgeable of the local culture and food. We thoroughly enjoyed learning the history, preparation and customs of the foods we tasted. We traveled down this amazing street sampling several delicacies and enjoying a local festival that was occurring. Our lunch was a very quaint Soba noodle restaurant and the food was amazing. Claire warned us we would not be hungry at the end of the tour and she was 100% correct. We even had some sweet treats she suggested as a reminder of the adventure we undertook. We highly suggest using Arigato Travel for your tour and recommend requesting Claire.

Fantastic tour with Kurt. So knowledgeable about the area and about the history of Osaka and wider Japan. I am an awkward vegetarian (sorry!), and my partner eats meat, but we were both accommodated for and thought was put into going places that we could both enjoy. It was great to also do the little demo in the knife shop that we wouldn't have done otherwise, or thought to include on a food tour, but it was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend!

We spent a wonderful 3 and a half hours with Yukiko in Uji on a Matcha Tea Tour. We visited a tea plantation, tasted matcha and other teas, local food and also visited the famous Byodoin Temple and ancient shrines (including the world heritage Ujigami shrine). Yukiko was very helpful and told us a lot about japanese tea, culture and everyday life, and even gave us useful tips. We really enjoyed the tour, it turned out to be much better than we expected, we are very grateful.

Amazing experience! Went with my wife and there were a total of 4 of us on the tour. Shikegi was our guide and he was very nice, thorough and knew his way around. The food was very tasty and we left full! Great way to spend a morning in Tokyo.

We went on an Osaka Food Tour with excellent Guide Rhea! Groups can be up to 9 people where we were the only two participants, creating a well paced, interesting cultural, quirky and food based experience! Rhea brought great knowledge and curiosity to the tour, accommodating the one of us with sore feet from days of walking! The food and restaurants were appetizing and welcoming! We’d recommend Arigato Travel and Rhea unreservedly!

We highly recommend the Shibuya retro food tour with Claire. You'll experience the quieter pockets of Shibuya as you enjoy delicious and fun spots, all while criss-crossing the crazy shopping district of Shibuya. Claire introduced us to interesting local history through subtle art installations that you might not normally notice. The food was amazing too, of course, and you'll view Shibuya in a different light after this tour.
