A morning with Moto at the market
This was one of our favorite tours of the entire trip. We met our guide, Moto-san, at Turret Coffee, which is on the Michelin Guide. We then walked to the market and had a traditional Japanese breakfast. After that, we walked and shopped the market, collecting samples, snacks and fish for our lunch. We had ice cold oysters, roasted black soybeans, tuna from the Tuna Princess and more. We stopped at the top of the market for our lunch which included how to grate fresh wasabi, fresh pickled vegetables including the beautiful baby aubergines. One of the best treats was Moto chronicling our day with photos that were shared with us.

Leckere Geheimtipps

Great guide and interesting destination
Jacob was an excellent host and guide for our trip to Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately the mountain wasn't visible because of clouds but he had arranged enough other interesting things to make it worthwhile. We toured the Mt. Fuji museum, a shrine, and a sake brewery. The day started with self-heating bentos, which is a miracle of technology, and ended with delicious yakisoba from a famous eatery. Jacob was also very helpful in directing us to our destination after the tour. His english is excellent so we had no trouble conversing and learning about the region.

A delightful and well worth experience.
The Asakusa Twilight Tour was well worth the time. Ray, our guide, covered the interesting historical points of interest as well as those of modern Asakusa. Rays assistance in helping my wife who is blind and in a wheelchair, catered the tour to suite our needs. The evening meal was an interesting experience for us both. Our photos will recall many happy times. Thanks Ray and Arigato.

Culinary and history education
Dianti was our guide. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the various types of Japanese cuisine/dishes but also the culture and history associated with the foods. Would highly recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed our tour with Matt O as a way to get familiar with the area and try out a number of new foods. The Taiyaki and Kushi Katsu were definitely highlights. Matt was very helpful with recommendations and historical information.

Tokyo food, market Fish market shopping tour
Jane took us shopping and bought sushi and prepared a picnic for us. She even hustled for a table when she thought some others were gonna take it. So we were able to sit down in the shade. Jane was one of our best guides and spoke very good English.

We couldn’t recommend this tour enough, Olivia (our guide) was extremely lovely and took us on a tasty tour around Hiroshima where we were able to try foods that we never would have, if not for the tour. All of the food was delicious and the drink pairings were perfect and we had a lovely evening. We were even treated to some lovely gifts and souvenirs from local shops in between our food stops. I would definitely book this tour.

A great food-based tour!
I had a very fun, informative, entertaining and filling time for a tour of Tsukiji Outer Market. During which I had the biggest and freshest oyster I am ever likely to have! Our guide Yappy was great, his working knowledge of the original market was extremely insightful and I feel like we got to see things many may not. I’d highly recommend such a tour of the outer market and surrounding area, lest you get a bit overwhelmed by the food choices!

Overpriced bar food tour
We did the Asakusa Twilight tour in May. It was not what I expected. We were told it would include an authentic Japanese dinner. Instead it was a series of bar food snacks. Awkward host and overpriced for the experience. Asakusa is beautiful though. You can have the same experience simply by walking through it yourself.

Yum!
Makki was welcoming and friendly from the beginning. We had many samples and tastings before enjoying five or six delicious dishes at a traditional restaurant that uses whatever was fresh at the market that morning. As we walked around the Asakusa area we learnt so much about the history of the district from Makki. The evening finished with matcha crepes filled with cream and ice cream. All in all a delicious and educational evening!
