Perfect Fun Holiday Activity
What an experience! Highly recommend booking this food tour on your visit to Tokyo. My partner and I had such a fun time and learnt so much about Japanese food and tried things we would have never thought to try on the tour!! After trying the pepper chicken wings Raikhan showed us, we ate them eveywhere we went around Japan - they were that good!

A range of foods in an iconic fashion neighborhood
We took the tour with just our family of 3! Our guide, Hannah, was knowledge and extremely patient with our toddler. The tour itself took covered lots of different foods (not just sweets), while winding through Harajuku. Though not inexpensive, we had a positive and delicious day!

Fun experience for all ages with surprise activity at the end
Serena and Melody were awesome guides. Each member of our family had a blast exploring Harajuku and trying different foods. The guides had lots of great stories and anecdotes and tailored to each person in our group (ages 10-50). We loved the surprise activity at the end! The food was delicious and fun... but calling it "cute food" is a bit of a misnomer. But we did see a lot of fun stuff on the tour.

Shibuya Food Tour
We had a Shibuya tour with Sandra. The 6 of us all really enjoyed all the small locations we went to. We also went through places that weren’t food related as well, which have ended up returning too as a result of the tour. Would definitely book again & definitely recommend.

Private Tsukiji Breakfast Tour
We just returned from Japan so I wanted to definitely sit down and make the time to tell the world about some of the tours and places we visited. We had an opportunity to take a morning tour of Tsukiji fish market ("Private Tsukiji Breakfast") in Tokyo with Shigeki-san of Arigato travel. This was our 2nd visit to Tsukiji and our first visit was with a tour guide as well. However, the difference was night and day. Our first tour was more of a person who just walked the stalls with us speaking Japanese when we wanted to order something. Helpful, but not in-depth by any means. Shigeki-san gave us the full treatment including a carefully thought-out plan including a coffee while we discussed our day, a quick sit-down bite to eat before we got started on the tour, bites of traditional and new tik-tok-y type of foods and recommendations on where we should come back should we want to buy anything like knives or a wasabi-grater. I'm in my 50's and I've loved Japanese culture for a while and I will even admit that I learned 3 or 4 new things on this tour. My entire family had an absolute blast picking out our foods while walking the stalls of Tsukiji, then sitting down for our "picnic" to enjoy them when we were done. Shigeki-san was an excellent host - upbeat, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We highly recommend him and this tour at Arigato Travel/Food Tours.

Best Authentic Osaka Food Tour
Osaka is a town of food and fun! Kentaro with Arigato Travel chose the best examples of both in old Osaka. We sampled traditional Osakan sweets, drinks, sushi and skewers all whilst Kentaro explained history, etiquette, culture and local lore. We visited a hidden Shinto shrine, an authentic blade manufacturer and took part in the carnival atmosphere which is Shinsekai in southern Osaka. With a zest for life and fun, Kentaro was the perfect guide.

Cozy Food & Atmosphere
Even thought this was in a super busy area, the route picked by Melissa avoided the crowds and allowed us to get to know the little alleys and hidden gems in busy Dotonbori. As someone who’s been to Osaka many times before, this tour changed my perspective on a lot of things about the city and the touristy areas. Im grateful for Melissa for guiding us with so much passion and joy. It was memorable! Thank you!

Harajuku food tour was amazing
The tour was excellent and we would highly recommend. All of the food options were different and things that we would not have tried or found on our own. Melody was our guide and she shared so much information with us about the area, food and interesting fun facts about Japan and the lifestyle.

We really enjoyed the variety of food and sights on this tour. Guiding is so beneficial when you are in a city you are not familiar with. In three hours we saw and tasted things that we may not have found in a week of searching. Our guide Ami was fantastic too. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful and Informative Matcha Kyoto Green Tea Tour with Excellent Guides
My husband and I had a wonderful tour with Atsuko and her colleague who introduced us to the culture, history, and cuisine of Matcha, Green Tea in Kyoto. The tour was well organized and we were a small group so we did quite a lot in our 3 hours tour in Uji: we visited a historic tea house and met the owner, whose family has been making Matcha for generations. In addition we had a delicious local lunch; made our own Matcha; viewed the tea fields and also saw the grounds of Byodoin Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Personal, informative, and fun, this tour was well worth the cost. I highly recommend it and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Arigato's classic Tsukiji food tour - a great and safe way to experience Japanese market food
This was my fourth group experience with Arigato Japan Food Tours, and it hit the mark. Even during last October's busy fall season, they managed a perfect, well timed walking and tasting experience at the Tsukiji central market for our large group of 15. They divided us into 3 small groups to make it more manageable. Lauren Shannon, one of the owners, was not with us this time, but the guides she selected were knowledgeable, organized, flexible, and fun to be with. They knew the oldest families in the market so it made it more personable to taste fresh tuna from a family that's been in the wholesale fish business since the 1850's. We had a variety of tastings, and some offerings were cooked. This tour is one of the highlights of Tokyo if you want to plunge into Japanese traditional food.

Great Experience with Francois
We did the private version of this tour with Francois. The tour was great and so was Francois. We especially enjoyed the sushi - best I've ever had! There was also chicken wings with a pepper dusting which were so good that we went back a second time. The places we visited were restaurants we would never have found on our own!

Fun with Wesley
We had a great time with Wesley! He customized our stops for our group and accommodated some dietary restrictions. We learned a lot about Japanese customs and Shibuya. He even took us to the train station and helped us get our train cards and rode the train back with us to where we were staying. The chicken wings and yakisoba were our favorite dishes.

Fun and filling food tour
Russ was fun, funny, entertaining, and informative on our food tour of the Pontocho neighborhood in Kyoto. He took us to at least 8 places to eat in this energetic, crowded, cool neighborhood. We had fried food, ramen, chicken, and sweets. More than enough food for dinner, and a couple of drinks. I was solo but enjoyed hanging with a couple from Ireland and a family from California. Russ even sent us home with several nicely wrapped desserts treats. Thanks, Russ!
