Great time exploring Shibuya with Ray
The Shibuya food tour with Ray was great. We learnt about the food from different regions of Japan and all the restaurants we visited were different in a good way. Ray kept the kids interested and also showed us the best place to watch the Shibuya crossing. Overall, wonderful experience. The only thing I would like to mention is to probably update the description of the meeting spot as it doesn’t seem to be accurate. Shibuya is a very busy area and for somebody who is not local it was quite stressful to find the spot.

Super Awesome Food Tour with Jane
Jane did an incredible job at showing us all the ins and outs of Kyoto. Not only was the food amazing, she taught us all we needed to know about history and traditions of the foods and area we were eating. Can’t recommend more, thank you Jane!!

My family and I went on a wonderful tour with Jane! She had amazing fun facts about the neighborhood and took the time to explain the history of each place and new food we tried. For our first time in Tokyo, Jane was the perfect guide!!

Retro Osaka Street Food Tour: Shinsekai with Akiko
Thursday 10th December Our evening food tour of Osaka’s Shinsekai area with our guide Akiko was an unforgettable mix of incredible food and local culture. We sampled a belltower sweet filled with seasonal white sweet potato, then moved on to crispy Kushi katsu skewers and savory okonomiyaki before enjoying what was easily the best sushi we’ve ever eaten, along with perfectly grilled yakitori, finishing on a silky egg custard. In between tastings, Akiko led us to a small local shrine, arranged a Japanese knife demonstration and explanation at the Tower Knife Shop. She even squeezed in some fun at a retro game parlor and at a shooting gallery. The pacing was perfect, the variety outstanding, and the experience felt both authentic and personal from start to finish.

Wonderful nighttime food tour in Hiroshima
We thoroughly enjoyed our Hiroshima nighttime tour with Miyuke. She was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting as well as interested in us and our experiences. She showed us some great places to eat and drink and made our short stay in Hiroshima very memorable. Arigato!

Fun and Fantastic
It was fantastic. First time in japan and honestly, the food we ate I really liked. Diante was very friendly and taught me somethings I didnt know about Japan. The small guided tour and expliation of the running man was a nice touch. I felt like it was great experince, and I would do it again.

Must do for quick Tokyo visit
We were only in Tokyo for the weekend, and I am so happy we chose to do this tour! It gave us the opportunity to experience a wide variety of foods and see areas we might not have ventured to on our own or with limited time. I would recommend this to everyone visiting Tokyo. It was truly unforgettable and now I try to find something similar anytime I travel to a new city. The guide spoke English very well and the other in our group were fun.

Sashimi for breakfast: Yes please!
We did the Tsukiji fish market breakfast tour in Tokyo, fall of 2025 with Jane, of Arigato Travel. It was great. We tagged along as Jane coursed through the extensive maze of stalls. She was making selections, picking up and purchasing things along the way. She stopped to talk to some of the vendors that she knew and explained to us what we were seeing. After that, she found us a table where she laid out a generous buffet. The market was not crowded although there were other shoppers. The table was also fairly quiet. Breakfast was excellent! She was able to respect my wife’s dietary restrictions against gluten (wheat) and lactose (milk). It also was cool that she had some fresh wasabi. She scraped it or grated it on what she said was a bit of shark tail, and brushed some onto each of our plates. Yum!

Arigato Food Tour – Asakusa with Ema
Our evening in Asakusa with Ema was honestly one of the highlights of our Tokyo trip. He has such a sweet and calming presence, and he made sure the entire experience felt slow, enjoyable, and perfectly paced. We tasted so many delicious dishes, each one better than the last, and his recommendations were absolutely spot-on. It felt less like a tour and more like walking around with a friend who truly knows and loves the area. Thank you, Ema, for such a memorable and heartwarming night in Asakusa. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Our three-hour daytime food tour of Sugamo was much more than a simple tasting experience. We sampled a wonderful variety of dishes from local shops, beginning with dorayaki—two light pancakes filled with red bean paste and a slice of butter—served warm alongside brown tea. The addition of local butter is Sugamo’s own twist on this classic Japanese sweet. Throughout the tour, we tried rice crackers, traditional sweets, and yet another style of dorayaki. Our lunch stop featured soba noodles in a rich duck broth. Trevor, our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, seamlessly blending history, food culture, and local stories. We visited two shrines and chatted with several residents, who greeted us with smiles and genuine curiosity. These small interactions added a warm, personal touch to our time in this charming corner of Tokyo.

Ethan was our guide for this incredible tour. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and was an all around great guide. The food and beverage selections were unique and of very good quality. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing the sights as we traveled from restaurant to restaurant. We highly recommend this tour.

Guide "Morten" led an excellent food tour, with a great knowledge of Japanese history. There was fantastic food variety, and we were happily stuffed. Recommend having the largest meal first instead of last.
