Great history and activity
tony is a great story teller. Chicago traffic never cooperates so lot of time riding but the opportunity to get off at the sites and use the equipment really adds to the experience. Had a great time and enjoyed the snacks provided by the M&M bus driver.
Good tour guide - great history
We boarded our air-conditioned bus and our driver even had snacks on board. This tour covered a very expansive area of locations. Not just downtown. Fasinating history and several pieces of information my husband I had never heard of. Would recommend. Our guide was very good. Only downside was the tour ran over - which may not be a downside for some, but we were staying close to O'Hare and it was very late evening.
Creepy history of Chicago
Our tour guide did a great job giving us historical information on the Lincoln Park area, while mixing in the actual ghost hunting and using devices. I've lived in Chicago my whole life, and definitely learned a lot of new things. Really fun tour and a great way to learn something different about Chicago.
A Fantastic Experience With A Very Knowledgeable Guide
I was deeply impressed with the knowledge and experience offered by my guide on this tour. From the beginning to the end, I was enthralled with the experience and my guides wide-ranging knowledge. Without doubt, Chicago Ghost Tours are the very best and offer an AAA+ premium experience. I would unreservedly recommend this company to anyone who wants the best that is on offer.
Awesome
Very informative!! Learned a lot about the city, some creepy tales, and interesting mob tales. My friends and I had a great time!
Tons of History
Comfortable bus tour that stopped at many historical sites. Tons of history...even for a local native. Give a ways on the bus were a nice treat. No bathroom stops on the Chicago Hauntings Tour so be prepared. Every bit of 3 hours and questions answered along the way. Fun tour.
Chicago Hauntings Fills the Bill
Great staff, very knowledgeable and the interaction with everyone left folks wanting more. Can't wait to see them again!!!
Chicago Hauntings Tour....photo anomalies
On May 18th I had the pleasure of taking the original Chicago Hauntings Tour and I really enjoyed the experience. We saw some really interesting sites and did a bit of ghost investigating too. Had some results at the site of the theater fire with dousing rods & then again Hull House I got a very strange photo. I’m not sure if it’s paranormal or not but I know for sure it’s not normal. No settings were changed on the phone and I’ve never gotten a photo before or since this picture was taken. I’m gonna let you decide but any way you look at it the tour was worth the money and a great experience in my book. Thanks! Can’t wait to come back and try another of your tours.
Amazing experience
Such an amazing experience! I learned so much, and had an immense amount of fun. Definitely have told all of my friends and family that they need to go on a tour. So worth it!
Hey demons it's ya boy
Bro it's worth the money go here. I learned so much about the paranomal and the original of many of Chicago's secrets simotaneously!
AMAZING TOUR!
My Conspiracy Theory Club went on a walking tour last night and had SO MUCH FUN. The guide went above and beyond by bringing out paranormal equipment for the kids to try. It was so interesting. I have been on several of these tours, but I learn something new every time. So fun!
Entertaining Tour
This tour was amazing! We learned So much about the Disasters in Chicago and what people have claimed to see or hear. The tour guy was so knowledgeable about the subjects that were talked about and was very enthusiastic about Gaby questions that were asked. We were also able to utilize paranormal equipment in the places that were visited. This tour was truly wonderful and it could not have gone any better.
Amazing and educational.
The tour was well worth the money spent. It was enjoyable for the whole family and very educational as far as the history of Chicago. The stories of the cemetery and how the bodies were moved was my favorite. Don’t forget the ghost part of the tour. You could really feel the expense of what had happened here and why there are still hauntings there. The tour guide was full of information and even handed out devices for us to hold and try out for ourselves. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and I would always ask for Tony to be your guide. No one could do it better!!!
They didn't show up
We bought two tickets, met at the right spot earlier than requested, waited over an hour. Called multiple times all to voicemail, emailed, Facebook messaged, all of it ignored. When we were finally contacted she said she didn't realize she had a tour booked and offered refunds, tour vouchers, and to pay for parking and dinner. That was May 8th, it's May 20th and now I'm being ignored again. No refund and no contact. Please please, listen to the reviews and do not book, find a different business to book through.
Great Tour with Knowledgable Tour Guide
I grew up in the Chicago area, and although I moved away many years ago, I still love going home. I've taken several tours over the past years and have greatly enjoyed them all. While I know a lot about the city, I always learn something new and cool on the tour. The haunted and ghost information is always fun, but more so the great historical information that's included. Besides the standard evening Chicago tours, the company offers several specialty tours. Check their website for those.
Don't Bother
On October 6th 2018 my friend Debbie Mykleby and her husband, and my husband and I were to set out on this adventure. Right away we noticed there were not enough seats on the bus for all ticket holders so my husband did not join us. Next we arrived at the Cuba Cemetery there was little to no history shared and we couldn't depart the bus because the gates were locked. We went on to Volo and dropped at the museum with no history or instrument learning to describe why we were there. Onto the Lodge, where do I begin? - no seating was prepared - very few staff and they didn't expect our group - the ladies behind the bar were rude and made us stand in line for 10 minutes for drinks - nothing on the menu for vegans - no Italian beef only sausage - sloppy joes looked dry and burnt Ursula was NOT present. No Mineola hotel. No six flags. They did NOT bring ghost hunting tools as stated. No trivia prizes. No giveaways. Some "stops" were drive bys. At devils gate the majority of guests wanted to see the building foundations. Guides didn't want to come along so we wandered until they came and told us we had to leave to get back by 4. Not really guided. $80 per person is a bit pricey for this tour that lists way more perks than you actually receive. Both Debbie and I have requested a refund and Ursula refuses to provide a refund. We don't want tickets to another tour we want our money back. Don't be fooled like we were by the false advertisement.
History Tour
This is a fantastic tour to take if you want to learn a lot about Chicago's history, I would probably say it is more history than ghost tour but that does not mean I didn't enjoy the tour because I really did. A huge bonus to this tour is getting to check out the lights and sights of Chicago from the comfort of a bus and not having to worry about driving in the traffic yourself. I was so looking forward to visiting the site of the St Valentines Day Massacre but unfortunately there was a big event going on in that vicinity so the traffic was unusually heavy with traffic cops directing the way so due to that the tour had to skip that stop, unfortunately that was the one I was most looking forward to seeing but that was not the fault of the tour company. The tour left from the Congress Hotel bar so we purposely went early so we could sit and enjoy a drink and something to eat before the tour left, so all in all it was a great night.
Fun history/mystery/paranormal
I highly recommend the bus tour that leaves from The Congress Hotel. You will learn so much about the city, the heartbreaking history, and the spirits who don't want you to forget it. There's a healthy dosage of sitting, listening, and getting out to explore.
Enjoyable haunted tour
I read other postings that weren't complimentary to this tour and decided to keep an open mind. We had a great tour guide, made 5 stops on a roughly 2.5 mile jaunt around downtown Chicago. The guide was very interested in paranormal and seemed to be honest about things rather than embellish things for the sake of the tour. There are plenty of dark things to talk about though and the stories told at each site really gave me a deep respect for the rich history of tragedy this city has as well as post-event hauntings that are being noted.
Two thumbs down!
Now if you are a history buff and want to hear about The Chicago Fire a hundred times this is your tour. Not at all what I expected and was counting the minutes for it to get over. The guide was very monotone and to be honest bored the crap out of me. May be for some people but not me and total waste of money. The plus was seeing Chicago at night, so beautiful!
