Itinerary
This wonderful day trip will take you to two of the UK’s most iconic attractions and one of the world’s most famous – and charming – cities. Make sure you are at the meeting point for 7:30am as your coach will be leaving at 8am sharp!
You will get to the first stop of the day, Windsor Castle, for about 9:30am. This 900 year-old castle perches proudly on a lush wooded hill overlooking the Thames. With its sweeping landscaped gardens and imposing turret, It’s easy to see why Windsor Castle is loved by King Charles II.
At Windsor Castle, enjoy a fascinating through–the–keyhole peek at the lavish State Apartments, home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and visit the beautifully gothic St. George’s Chapel, the atmospheric final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII and Elizabeth II. The coach will leave Windsor Castle at about 11:30am to move onto the next part of your adventure.
From a 900 year-old castle to a 5,000 year-old monument – you’ll be taking a step even further back in time when visiting Stonehenge, to which you will get to for about 1:15pm. The true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did our ancestors manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, Stonehenge never fails to impress.
For your last stop of the day – see the beautiful town of Oxford, known for being home to the English-speaking world’s oldest university. On this walking tour of Oxford, follow in the footsteps of Oxford’s famous students (such as C.S.Lewis and Bill Clinton) as you stroll through the captivating college courtyards and cobbled lanes of this historic university town.
Take in the famous ‘city of dreaming spires’ and see the Bodleian Library – one of the oldest libraries in Europe – on your visit. You’ll be captivated by the unspoilt narrow alleys and ancient squares of this charming place. Your coach will leave Oxford at about 5:45pm. The estimated arrival time back in London is around 7pm.

Traveler reviews
Nice tour
Very nice tour. Best part by far was Windsor Castle, Stonehenge was definitely amazing. Oxford was honestly a bit underwhelming. We wandered around and looked at some buildings and checked out some shops. As is often the case with full day tours, a lot of your time will be spent on the bus between stops, but it's a great way to see multiple sites with limited time.
Time well spent!
It’s well organized and the travel bus was comfortable, Pauly, our tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. Mario, our driver was also great. Overall, I paid the extra fees for the lunch but that was not ideal. Got a salad and I would have expected a sandwich. Just a matter of preference, I guess. All three locations we visited were like a movie set or fairy tale. Incredible amount of history. Overall, I’d recommend this one for sure!
Great experience, the...
Great experience, the booking was easy to do. Kind of annoying understanding the details when ordering, but make sure to pay for two entries if the attractions are open the day you are going for ease of use. I wish that the tour was longer in some areas but overall it got what was needed.
terrible experience
I booked the tour through Civitatis at a reasonable price, even considered high by other tour operators. The price included tickets to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. However, on the day of the tour, for no apparent reason, the tour manager told me that the tickets weren't included and that I would have to pay for them at the attractions. This was frustrating and made our experience extremely unpleasant, leaving us feeling cheated. When I tried to explain the situation, Golden Tours washed their hands of the matter and told us to go back to Civitatis. In short, I paid $450 to travel in a mediocre bus, without food, and only being able to admire the sights I wanted to see with my family from the outside. For that money, I could have rented a car, bought tickets, food, and some peace of mind, and still had money left over. I will never use this service again.
Tours of the tourist attractions
A tour that will help you understand the key points of your destination. The time at each location is relatively short, so for those who want to take a closer look, a tour with few destinations may be a good idea
