Scammed
My family of 4 adults and 6 children under the age of ten booked a hop on hop off bus tour at 4pm. We were told the tour ended at 8pm. We waited for 20 minutes for a bus and rode for 20 minutes before hopping off. We hopped back on at 5:45 and were taken back and left at a location. They told us to get off the bus and the tour was over. We asked the driver why are you leaving us here and he said the bus ends at 6. We were stranded with no way to return because we were lied to, scammed and refused to be helped. We literally stopped at one stop, road the bus a total of 30 minutes to be left on the side of the road. The driver said to contact customer service and they would give us a full refund because we were sold tickets under false information. When I contacted customer service they would not help, only offered a 25% discount back. Do not use this company. I think it is a scam based on our experiences
Not worth the price
We used Golden Tours' hop-on, hop-off service in London for three days. Overall, the service was good, but the wait between buses was quite long (ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour). There seemed to be roughly twice as many Big Bus and TopView buses stopping at the London bus stops as Golden Tours buses. In addition, Golden Tours would sometimes reroute buses that were supposedly on the route, only for them to suddenly disappear from the live interactive map (we ended up waiting an hour on the Orange Route before another bus finally arrived). On another occasion, the driver asked all passengers to get off the bus, following instructions from management, so that he could take a lady to the Hilton, even though the Hilton was not on the Orange Route. We had to wait for the next bus... I would strongly recommend choosing Big Bus or TopView over Golden Tours.
This is a great way to...
This is a great way to see London, especially if you are there only for a short period of time. We rode on the bus for one entire route then continued on it again and got off at places we wanted to explore more.
