Full description
Start your morning in Monti, one of Rome’s most characterful neighborhoods, just a short walk from the Colosseum. Known for its blend of history and local life, this area offers a more authentic side of the city from the very first stop.
Begin on a rooftop overlooking the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, where a classic Italian breakfast sets the tone. As you sip your coffee and enjoy fresh pastries, you’ll uncover the subtle, but important, difference between a cornetto and a croissant.
From there, follow your guide through Monti’s lively streets, stopping to taste traditional Roman specialties. Bite into a freshly filled rosetta with porchetta, then continue to a neighborhood deli for a selection of cheeses and cured meats, showcasing the simplicity and quality of local ingredients.

Reviews
So glad I booked this. The guide was great, the stops felt genuinely local, and the food was delicious from start to finish. Do this on your first day and come hungry!
One of the best Venice city food tour experiences we have ever done. The guide took us to authentic local spots, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the cicchetti, the spritz pairings, and the delicious prosecco served with the polenta and polpetta di carne.
The best way to get to know a culture is to taste and learn about its food. My nephew and I had a great time on this tour, and I felt the expense was worth the experience. There was plenty of yummy food and drink, too.
