A delightful half-day trip back in time
What an enjoyable morning! It's worth getting up a little early to avoid the crowds. Tour guide Yasushi is friendly, enthusiastic, very informative, and speaks excellent English. We learned so much about Japan, Kanazawa, and Shirakawa-go from him while on the bus. He also met us at the historic Wada House to explain the town's traditional and interesting industries. Walking around Shirakawa-go is like stepping back in time. The wooden houses, the rice fields, the flowers, the mountains, the fresh air! We also enjoyed the gohei mochi and mitarashi dango. (Both are snacks-on-a-stick made of grilled rice and tasty sauce.) The bus is very comfortable, too, with roomy seats and AC. Though the road goes through several long tunnels, we were treated with awesome views of mountains, rivers, and farmlands. Kitahama-san gave us a smooth ride. ありがとうございます!
Breathtaking landscape
Well-filled visit! On the way to our destination, Keita provided us with a lot of information and advice to fully enjoy our visit. The site is magnificent and there is much to see.
Shirakawa-go
If you want to discover old Japan and the local food, ice cream, and souvenirs this is a great place to start. This tour took us on a beautiful trip to Shirakawa-go, a small rustic town full of traditional houses and Japanese history. It’s even better to go in the morning to beat the afternoon crowds and enjoy the peace of the town. Our tour guide, Keita made this trip very enjoyable! He was very funny and taught us about the history of nostalgic Japan and Shirakawa-go. I highly recommend, 5/5 experience.
A magical Village
Keita made the trip really enjoyable and amazing. He is funny and entertaining. The village was great too. The only downside was, that we had only 2h of time to get to see the village. It is not enough :/ Thank you for all the information.
Shiragawa-go
Keita was the guide and educated us with many interesting pieces of information.
