The Atomic Bomb Dome, located in Hiroshima, Japan, is a preserved ruin of the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, which was near the epicenter of the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945. The building’s skeletal structure, with its distinctive dome, remains as a poignant symbol of the devastation caused by nuclear warfare. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996, serving as a reminder of the horrors of war and a call for global peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, located in Hiroshima, Japan, commemorates the victims of the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945. The park houses significant monuments, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Peace Memorial Museum, which educates visitors about the bombing’s impact. The park promotes peace and global awareness, with events such as the annual Peace Memorial Ceremony. It stands as a symbol of hope for a world free of nuclear weapons.
It was opened to the public since 1954, there are over 50 pieces peaceful monuments. The museum features exhibits with personal stories, photographs, and artifacts that depict the horrors experienced by survivors. It also emphasizes the importance of peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons. The museum serves as a powerful reminder of the need for global peace and the prevention of future nuclear conflict. *From February 16 to 21, 2026, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum will be closed due to exhibit replacement. During this period, we will visit an alternative site, the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims. Please note that no refunds will be issued due to this change.
We will take a return ferry on this tour for going to Miyajima island.
For those who selected with lunch option, we will have Okonomiyaki in Miyajima Island. Hiroshima Okonomiyaki is a regional variation of the classic Japanese savory pancake. Unlike the Osaka style, where all ingredients are mixed together, Hiroshima's version layers the ingredients. A base of batter is cooked on a griddle, followed by a generous portion of shredded cabbage, pork, and noodles. The dish is then topped with okonomiyaki sauce, bonito flakes, and a drizzle of mayonnaise. It's a flavorful and satisfying dish, beloved by locals and visitors alike. We also have vegetarian Okonomiyaki which does not containds pork nor bonito flakes. Please request when you make a booking. We do not have vegan, halal, gluten free lunch so please select "Without lunch" and bring your own lunch or you can also have a free time at Miyajima while we have lunch.
This shrine was built in 593 by emperor, but most of construction was rebuilt in 1168 by Kiyomori Taira. This shrine was built on the sea. Because, ancient people believed Miyajima island was goddess. The signature of Itsukushima shrine is Otorii gate which stands itself. The high is same size of the great Buddha in Nara prefecture. The pillar's diameter is 10m. You can walk there by your foot when law tide.
At the Miyajima island, not only Itsukushima Shrine but also Daishoin is photogenic. There are many Jizo guardian statues in rainbow color costumes. Also relaxing Budda statue and many lanterns you can discovered.

Traveler reviews
A family of 5 from Florida was well taken care of by Tomo.
We were in a large tour group and Tomo was attentive to everyone’s needs. We are a family of 5 and felt as though we were a priority, even though no one else recieved less attention. Her knowledge from start to finish was timed perfectly throughout the trip. The travel time between stops was like a conversation with a friend that was filled with interesting information. Tomo is a great tour guide that brings positive energy and shares that energy with everyone from the moment we met to the time she ensure our safe return.

Thank you Tomo for a wonderfully experience. The peace park museum offers a sobering experience for the world to remember the horror of nuclear weapons. And what a lovely way to spend an afternoon amongst the deer and shrines on Itsukushima island.

Great Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima 🇯🇵⛩️
Highly recommend booking the 8 hour day trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima with Japan Panoramic Tours. Tomo was my guide for the day and was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of all of the sites we visited. We went to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum first followed by a walking tour of the park stopping at a number of stops before finishing at the A-Bomb dome. Tomo pointed out extra sightseeing spots we could visit during our free time such as the hospital which was the site of the atomic bomb and additional shrines in Miyajima. After finishing in the Peace Memorial Park the bus took us to the Ferry port to head to Miyajima and we got our ferry across. We then had a guided tour, lunch and free time on the island. As a solo traveller I would recommend this trip as it saves the hassle of organising all of the transfers, tickets and transport yourself and found it to be very good value for money. Thank you Tomo for a great tour! 🇯🇵🌟⛩️
