Great experience with Alpaca Expeditions

I had a great experience with Alpaca Expeditions. Our guides, Ismail and Marco, were very organised, knowledgeable and a great deal of fun! I also like that they support the local communities by hiring local guides, porters and cooks. And oh, the food! Definitely the best food I’ve had on a trek. Chef Lucio was amazing!

Superb experience

Ismael was a superb guide who went above and beyond with the information, attentiveness, organisation and friendliness. This is a good company who do things the right way to support communities and locals. Was a pleasure trekking with you guys. Thank you!

Unforgettable trek with the BEST guides and chef!

Ricardo Pompilla and Yeferson were the absolute BEST guides: funny, kind, knowledgeable, and they went above and beyond to create an incredible experience for us at all times. They treated us like family for the entire trek. Chef Ciriaco kept us incredibly well nourished: every meal was a feast that catered to all dietary restrictions. Ricardo and Yeferson expertly handled our group and made sure everyone was cared for even if some hiked faster, others slower, and others felt unwell—thanks to them, we all still made it through, together. This was my first multi-day trek and I can't recommended this team enough. So much love for my new Salkantay family! Abrazos!

Breathtaking

Bring your own high tech sleeping bag-avoid the unwashed version they rent. No showers the first two nights, lack of toilet paper. No heating in any of the high altitude camps. Bring lots of extra money, more than 20% of purchase price in tips paid. Landscape is breath taking -the first 2 days quiet literally.

Salkantay Trek 5D/4N July 2026

I did this trek with my wife and 9 other hikers. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences I have had. Our guides, Ricardo and Yeferson were very professional, caring and knowledgeable. Both speak English and Spanish very well, which is a big plus. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of. The chefs put a lot of effort into making delicious meals for you every day. I would definitely recommend this trip to someone who is seeking a glamping adventure in the Andes.
