Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu 2-Day Adventure

I can’t recommend Alpaca expeditions enough especially with Valentin as your guide. We booked the 2-day expedition for my family of 4 which included my 7&8 year old boys. We expected to be with a group but Valentin and Alpaca Expeditions curated a private experience. We stayed in Urubamba for 3 nights prior to the hike to acclimate and Valentin reached out the night before to give us detailed instructions on our pick up and what to expect the next day. He was so thorough and kind we felt very prepared. Valentin picked us up with a private shuttle from our airport and got us to the train. He was so helpful and made the kids excited for what to come. The hike was beyond anything we could have imagined. Valentin paced us perfectly so the kids never got too tired or felt sick. He was so knowledgeable of the trail and pointed out so many things along the way. As well as taking us to other ruins and teaching us the history of the trail along the way. He was so patient with the kids constant questions and really showed them how fun hiking can be. Lunch by Soledad and Marleni the porters and cook was amazing. They set up a private table for our family with the most amazing food it was so special. After lunch we continued the hike, Valentin got the kids really excited about the monkey steps and the sun gate it was so cute to see them run up them and be so excited to get their first view of Machu Picchu. That day we hiked into Machu Picchu where Valentin took the postcard pictures you dream about as well as telling us about the city. He took us into town and to our hotel and we met him for a great dinner. The next morning he greeted us at our hotel and took us to the bus to go back to the ruins. We did circuit 3 where Valentin was so knowledgeable and detailed filling us in on the history. We learned a lot! It was a bucket list experience only made better by Valentin and Alpaca Expeditions.

Unbelievable memories Outstanding performance by Walter and while company Alpaca Expeditions It was deep knowledges about Incas without magic, spiritual things and aliens. A lot of info in a good English. The Service were at 5-star :)

We had an amazing experience on the two day machu picchu trail. We were hiking with two young kids and the tour guide Renaldo was absolutely amazing. He was very helpful in taking care of my ten year old who felt a bit unwell along the hike. He is passionate about the history and importance of Machu Picchu and it comes across in the way he conducts the tour. Highly recommend the tour along with guides Reynaldo, Abram and chef Javier ( prepared delicious fresh lunch!). Highly recommend the tour!

The tour was amazing, really well staffed and accommodating. The lunch on day 1 was a particular highlight. Will 100% recommend.

Our experience with Alpaca Expeditions was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we were picked up at our hotel until we were dropped off back in Cusco, everything was perfectly organized and seamless. Our guide, Sole, was the heart of this incredible experience. Sole was professional, knowledgeable, kind, patient, and passionate every step of the way. She shared fascinating history, culture, and stories that made every site come alive. Sole always made sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and enjoying themselves, and her English was excellent. We could not have asked for a better guide. The food was outstanding—far beyond anything we expected on a trek. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The snacks were also amazing and gave us plenty of energy throughout the hike. The porters and chef were incredible, hardworking, and always greeted us with smiles. Their effort and dedication made the trip even more special. Sole truly made this journey unforgettable. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to every detail were spectacular. She went above and beyond from pickup to drop-off, and we always felt we were in the best hands. We will absolutely recommend Alpaca Expeditions to all of our friends and family, and we especially hope they are lucky enough to have Sole as their guide.
