Traveler reviews
A blast was had!
I was picked up from a hotel because they do not offer pickups from Airbnbs. I’m actually being dropped off as I write this review. The ziplining was very organized. There are 12 lines total, and they allow participants to stop at any point before the 9th line if they feel uncomfortable. I completed all 12 and had an amazing time. The staff takes photos throughout the experience, and they offer photo packages at the ranch, so I recommend taking as many pictures as possible. My favorite part was interacting with the monkeys. They were incredibly cute, friendly, and entertaining. The guides were also friendly and helpful throughout the excursion. Lunch was tasty, and we also participated in chocolate and coffee tasting. The cacao fruit was so good! One thing to keep in mind is that although the activities are part of the same excursion, some experiences and photo packages are purchased separately. The monkey photos cost $40 for me as a solo traveler, which felt a bit pricey, but the pictures came out great, so I ended up buying them. The only downside of the entire excursion was one guide asking if I was Jamaican and commenting that I looked Jamaican. I’m not Jamaican, and I wasn’t sure what he meant by that. People of all shades and appearances come from countries all over the world. Although he later continued complimenting me and called me beautiful, the comment still came across as ignorant and made me uncomfortable. I’ve traveled to many countries, but I had always been hesitant to visit the Dominican Republic because I worried about experiencing racism due to my darker complexion. Aside from that interaction, however, I enjoyed the excursion and had a great time overall.
Highly recommend.
This experience was absolutely wonderful. Zip lining required a few high platform climbing, but it was well worthwhile. The monkey interaction was the best experience I've ever had. Highly recommend.
Highly recommended
The experience was a very different experience from learning about DR on the way to the mountains, zip-lining with scenic views, and experiencing the monkeys. The food was probably the best I’ve had while being in DR. Sensational was a very great tour guide.
Must Do! Great Staff, Zipline, Food, and monkeys! Cocoa and Coconut house too.
This experience was amazing! all the staff were super friendly and inclusive of language barriers. they all made little jokes to make the experience zip lining and with monkeys comfortable! All the guys that worked the zipline were super helpful in making sure we were strapped in right and doing things the right way. The monkey tour guides were Ronnie and Anthony and they were great! A monkey pooped on me and they made sure to help me get it off quickly LOL! Our main guide that took us through from the zipline to monkey land was "Sensational" and he was also hilarious. Everyone was knowledgeable on all that was on the grounds. If you are doing the zipline, definitely prepare for a lot of stairs! There are roughly 12 ziplines you can go on, and if you choose to go on all of them, it is a lot of walking, so just be mindful of your own mobility and capacity. I definitely recommend this if you want something different than water activities!
BEST Excursion!
This was an amazing time! I absolutely loved our tour guide Melvin “Censational” he was amazing and so was our driver Felix, exceptional the both of them! The staff for the zip line were so patient with us and made me feel very comfortable since it was my first time. And the staff at monkey land were absolutely amazing and the monkeys so adorable ! Would do this all over again and my partner absolutely loved it!
