Micil Distillery Experience 2 - Gin, Poitín and Whiskey

If you’re visiting Galway, do yourself a favor and book a tasting experience at Micil Distillery with Ross! We had an absolute blast exploring the world of Irish spirits, especially trying Poitín and learning about its fascinating history. Ross made the entire experience fun, engaging, and memorable. His knowledge of Poitín and Irish whiskey was exceptional, and his passion for the craft and Ireland’s distilling heritage really shone through. He brought the history to life with great stories, interesting facts, and plenty of humor along the way. This wasn’t just a tasting; it was a journey through Irish history, culture, and tradition, one glass at a time! Trying Poitín was a definite highlight. It was fantastic to experience a spirit with such deep roots in Irish culture and learn how it helped shape Ireland’s distilling traditions. Ross struck the perfect balance between education and entertainment, making us feel like we were spending time with a knowledgeable friend rather than sitting through a formal tour. And the hospitality didn’t stop when the tasting ended! Jessica was wonderful and provided us with some excellent recommendations for our drive to Connemara. Those personal touches made the experience even more special and gave us some great ideas for continuing our Irish adventure. Interesting and informative tour with enterprising and passionate guys, A must-try

This was the BEST tour! I've done several distillery, brewery or winery tours... our guide at Micil was great! She gave us so much information about the history of spirits in Ireland and Galway, very interesting and different than the North American story. The tastings were generous and our guide obliged one guest with a substitution when requested. I came back to the States with multiple bottles, which NOW are rare, and highly prized as "one of a kind" in my home Pub. Enjoyed every minute and sip.

We were captivated for the whole hour of this experience. A lot of interesting information presented in a very professional and entertaining way. Learnt a lot including the right way to taste whisky!
