About this activity

Taste the best of Montmartre's bohemian flavors on a guided food tour. Savor award-winning baguettes, artisanal cheese, and fine seafood. End with breathtaking views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, from the city's most beautiful viewpoint.

Highlights

  • Take a bite of a traditional French baguette from a bakery that’s won awards for making the best in the city
  • Visit artisan shops to taste sweet and savory French fare in the form of cheese, chocolate and even citrus jam
  • Enjoy the spectacle of sausage and aligot: mashed potatoes mixed with fresh cheese and cream until it’s gooey, stretchy and impossibly rich, at a brasserie headed up a former French Top Chef contestant
  • Admire the beauty of the city of love from some of its most scenic viewpoints
  • Sip on French wine as you enjoy fine seafood from a family-owned neighborhood institution
  • You can’t leave Paris without trying French macarons from one of the city’s most famous pastry shops

Full description

Experience the culturally rich and iconically beautiful neighborhood of Montmartre. Ascend to the city’s most beautiful viewpoint for breathtaking views of Paris (including the Eiffel Tower!). Along the way, savor the crème de la crème of French cuisine: authentic charcuteries from decorated butchers, world-famous French cheeses, pastries and bread from award-winning bakers, and sip on enough wine to make you say “ooh la la.”

Feel the creativity of the area’s bohemian roots as you taste macarons from the “Picasso of Pastry” while learning about the real Picasso’s time in the city. See how new age concepts mix with institutions that have served Parisians since the 1800s to create the Paris we know today—all while seeing iconic sights like the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and Montmartre’s Belvedere.

One of the best Venice city food tour experiences we have ever done. The guide took us to authentic local spots, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the cicchetti, the spritz pairings, and the delicious prosecco served with the polenta and polpetta di carne.

The best way to get to know a culture is to taste and learn about its food. My nephew and I had a great time on this tour, and I felt the expense was worth the experience. There was plenty of yummy food and drink, too.
