Malheureusement la guide ne s’exprimait pas très bien Français, nous avions du mal à comprendre et il a fallu répéter plusieurs fois. Attention aussi sur l’emploi de « visite guidée » car ce n’est pas le cas. La personne n’est là que pour expliquer l’histoire de la gondole de Venise et son symbole dans la ville. Une sorte d’introduction mais une fois sur la gondole plus rien. La gondole était très bien, propre et rutilante mais le circuit de promenade est décevant et ne présente que peux d’intérêt car passage par des canaux secondaires.

We booked the Venice gondola ride with musicians, expecting a romantic private-style experience for the price (€135). Unfortunately, it was disappointing and not a good value. When we arrived, around 16–20 people were grouped together and split between 4–5 gondolas. Only the first gondola had the musicians onboard, while the rest of us followed behind in separate boats. Because the musician boat stayed ahead, we could barely hear the music most of the time. My husband and I were also seated with two other couples. If you board later, you may end up with the side seats instead of the more comfortable central couch seating, which made the ride less enjoyable. For this price, I would honestly recommend booking a regular private gondola ride instead. It may cost around €90–€100 without music, but at least you can sit comfortably and enjoy a quieter, more personal experience. Venice itself was beautiful — this particular activity just did not match the expectation or price.

Venice Tours company is the worse tour company I ever dealt with. Our tour was scheduled at 11:00am and we were asked to arrive at 10:50am. At 10:18am, I got an email and said the plan changed and boat will be leaving at 10:30am. I understand that things might change. However, 12 minutes heads-up was not enough. When we run to the dock, there was no staff on site and the boat left. We have no clue what to do until a nice lady told us to find the office of this company. We got to re-schedule to the afternoon tour. In addition, we bought a small group tour up to max. 20 people. We had 35 people on the tour. Terrible company with no sense of responsibility.
