Versailles Tour - Great concept but some issues. To Improve: Bikes: quality of the bikes, seats good but some brakes didn't work at all, wobbly wheels, bent forks and pedals. Charge more and get higher quality bikes as an option perhaps. Time: You waste a good 2 hours before you're even on the grounds. And you waste time and stress at the market trying to find a bathroom as you can't go once at Versailles on the tour for a few hours, they could at least work out a deal with someone at the market instead of letting 50 people every morning "just go find one somewhere...". Ride: Not hard or long at all, flat gravel. Nice ride. Suggest more, we only rode about 3 miles, not the 10 they claim, I checked with GPS. Group Size: Too big, or VIP tour was 20 folks, thought it would be 5, so we'd go faster and have more options. Don't know how large the regular non-vip tour would be, but probably even worse. Suggest charge more and keep size smaller as an option. Tour Guides: Great. Knowledgable, helpful, native English speakers. Petite Trianon Hamlet was great and ability to ask questions and get answers, was great. And of course they keep you safe and informed, this is their best asset. Mgmt: For having done this hundreds of times, I can't imagine how there are still ticket snafus and printed paper lists of who is with whom finding tour guides at Versailles and train/bus info. I'd think that'd be clockwork. Versailles Palace itself: Overcrowded even WITH skip the line which is an absolute *must*. Shoving tourists, felt like a subway in Tokyo. This is not Fat Tire's fault, French govt should limit attendance to safe / comfortable levels, just saying its totally worth it to do this bike tour and never go IN the palace.

I had a blast on the Milan Food Tour and Georgia was an incredible guide. Her enthusiasm and passion for food, as well as her hometown of Milan, was inspiring and infectious. The group was full of fellow travelers who were open to trying all the foods that the tour had to offer, which included gelato, Italian pastries, risotto, cheeses, cocktails, and more. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. It was the best thing about my time in Milan.

We had a great time renting bikes in DC. We rented the tandem trailers for our 6 and 8 year olds, and it was perfect. No worrying about them falling behind, and kept them safe around the traffic. I highly recommend renting bikes and touring the monuments, especially if you have school-age kids. The monument tour, and a ride down the mall took about 5-6 hours with lots of stops (food, water, potty, pictures, etc). Also - we rented bikes on the hottest day of the summer (hit 100 deg), yet with proper hydration and breaks, we had no issues with feeling overheated.

Tim is an absolute rockstar! Easily the best guide we’ve had our entire trip. Super informative, fluent English and was able to weave a story of some French history which leaves a lasting impression. Side note, bikes are pretty old and need an upgrade.
