Good except that they didn't let us see the Basilica

Overall, this was a good tour. It was advertised as a max of 12 people, but there were 13—minor issue, but worth noting. Since this was our last day in Rome, we had already done several tours, and while the guide was knowledgeable, the focus leaned more toward general Roman/Italian history than the Vatican itself. It felt a bit broad and less connected to what we were seeing. That said, the descriptions of the art and the Sistine Chapel were outstanding—truly a highlight. I would have rated this 4 stars, but we didn’t get to tour St. Peter’s Basilica. Despite booking four months in advance, we were informed just a day before that there were no skip-the-line tickets left. We were offered a full refund to cancel or a 25% discount to move forward without the basilica. We chose the discount because during a Jubilee year and with such short notice, rebooking wasn’t realistic. The explanation for the ticket issue was unclear, but it seemed to be an error on the tour company’s part to secure the right number of tickets as they were letting tons of other groups that day skip the line. I was told I'd receive my refund within 30 days and we're at day 25 so we shall see.....

The Scrovegni chapel was the highlight. I wish you had more than 15 minutes inside. The tour would be improved if it was 1 hour shorter. 3 hours was a little too long with kids.

Guia, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the entire Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Basilica. My wife & I felt that the tour was very intimate. You also get to skip the lines into the Vatican which is a major plus.

Had a semi-private tour of the recent Caravaggio 2025 exhibition at Palazzo Barberini in Rome. Our guide, Frederico was excellent! Very knowledgeable, engaging, great pace, managed the crowds well, and was a charming guide. Will happily look to take other tours with Through Eternity when I can. Grazie Frederico!!

Do not believe the reviews you read here. Very well organised. Suitable amount of peple per time slot. Amazing exhibition. Do not miss it! I read all the reviews before my visit and fortunately none of ot was true. It was an exhibition of a lifetime!

My nephew and I had a great time with our guide. She told stories about the daily life of different types of Romans who would live and work in the Forum and Colosseum and made the spaces come alive for us. The pacing of the information was great as was the pacing of the walking (especially going up hills and stairs) with the heat. This is my third tour with Through Eternity and I will gladly go on another with this company- I have not had a bad experience with any of the highly professional guides.

Breathtaking Basilica

Valentina (spelling?) was very knowledgeable and informative. She kept our small group (including a 12yr old) engaged the whole time. Upon entering the Basilica in the dark we were a bit confused but once the lights slowly came on….it took my breath away! What a magical experience! Pictures do not do this spiritual Basilica justice! My husband & I travel quite a bit & this was by far Top on the List!! I will definitely book with Through Eternity from now on! Thank you for a fantastic experience! And hiring the BEST Tour Guides!!

Outside of Paris: Glorious Versailles: The Sun King's Royal Residence

We added an optional 1 hour golf cart tour of the French Gardens of Versailles as my mother has a hard time walking. For anyone with mobility issues, I would highly recommend adding this option. There was still a bit of walking required as the golf carts are picked up 75 meters or so after entering the gardens. During our tour of the gardens, we were asked by multiple people where they could rent the golf carts. We toured the gardens first since it was forecast to get quite warm, and our guide, Astrid, thought it would be better to view the gardens before it warmed up too much. There were 5 in our party and the golf carts only carry 3 plus a driver so we needed 2 carts. Astrid drove the first cart, and I followed here in the second one. This did require me to leave my driving license at the rental booth, so be aware of this requirement. She was excellent about stopping and getting out of her cart to explain what we were seeing to the whole group. After the gardens, we toured the Palace. Astrid arranged for us to get a wheelchair for mom which was a great help for her. It was fairly crowded but Astrid stopped to explain what we were going to see before going into the crowded areas. I would recommend bringing water for the tour, but there is a small store onsite that you can buy drinks, pre-made sandwiches, pastries and coffee. The tour included pickup and dropoff to our apartment we were renting in Paris.
