I really wanted to see the Basilica, but wasn't keen on dealing with crowds. I saw the night tours recommended in a guide book and found Through Eternity Tours online. Had a few issues with their website, but emailed the office and they were super helpful and booked me in. Grace was our tour guide and she was brilliant! She explained everything clearly, with good humour, pointing things out that I would have missed without a guide. There were only a few groups in the Basilica, and sitting in the dark and watching the gold mosaic being slowly illuminated by the lights, and starting to sparkle, was truly magical! Truly an astounding experience - I'm not religious, but felt quite moved by the beauty and craftsmanship that went into this stunning building. Can 100% recommend and would do it again!

Wonderful tour experience!

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Maria. She was super knowledgeable and very accommodating for the diverse crowd in our group. There was not a question she couldn’t answer! I loved her added stories and nuances. The tour itself is awe-inspiring. It’s crazy to walk on the same grounds as the people who lived and served in the Roman forum.

Great tour

The tour guide did a great job taking us thru the Vatican and explaining so much history. The tour was great. The Vatican is a bit overwhelming!

History comes alive

Leah was funny, interesting and intelligent. Made very dry history come alive. Very impressed and we could tell that she cared for us as individuals.

What was supposed to be a small group (9-12) only turned out to be 18. Another tour guide failed to show b up. I paid for small group and got a big group with a couple that eould stay with group. Me missed our tour to the top of dome.

Great Small Group Tour

Anna was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and very engaging. There were only 6 people in our group, so easy to stay together. Saw many interesting sites on Palatine Hill, including ancient palaces, the forums, great views. Anna had so many great insights into what we were seeing. The Colosseum is grand and a site to behold. Although, be prepared for very large crowds. We went the beginning of October, while it was definitely less crowded than summer months, still tons of people. Would highly recommend.

We did the Rome in a Day tour with Francesco and it was absolutely amazing! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, you can tell he truly knows and loves the history of Rome. He shared so many fascinating stories and details we never would’ve known or learned on our own. On top of that, Francesco is super friendly, easygoing, and genuinely cares that everyone has a great experience. It felt like exploring the city with a good friend who happens to be an history expert! This tour was the highlight of our trip.

Amazing Tour

This is the second time I toured the Domus Aurea with Through Eternity Tours and have never been disappointed. The tour guides are outstanding and very knowledgeable. The underground tour of Nero's golden house is just amazing. The virtual experience is the grand finale of the tour and it places you right back in time to the roman era. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had Daniele as our tour guide and he was wonderful. We had a custom day tour of Rome planned along with a transfer and he met every expectation and made it a great day in Rome!

Excellent experience!! Brandon our tour guide( doctoral student from Princeton) was a great guide, Due to the Jubilee we had to adjust to a last minute change in our itinerary. He made sure we had the full tour experience (3. Hours plus} we didn’t get to St. Peter’s but he gave us the tools to see it later in the day when it was supposed to open. Second time using Through Eternity and didn’t disappoint!

Best tour we have been on this trip- Luddie was friendly, personable, knowledgeable and fun. She kept us engaged and went at our pace. We enjoyed her insights of the area- showing us things we had missed and walked by the last 2 days. “Ludi” was absolutely fantastic! She was easy for 8 Americans to understand, even for my wife and I from Texas!! She is a walking history book on Firenze(Florence, Italy)! She explained everything we saw and answered all of our questions. She was also patient and kind. We highly recommend her!!!
