This was awesome!!! We had an amazing time! Last time we did a different one and this one is definitely our favorite!! The crew is awesome, we saw a lot of turtles and then got to use the slide! It was an awesome trip and the crew made it that much better! Thanks guys!!

Only my second snorkeling tour but it was absolutely awesome! The crew was professional and fun at the same time! Some issues others have warned me about, the creator being packed and overcrowded. The crew was aware of this and actively avoided the crowded times, we were only 1 of two 2 boats at the creator and the only boat at turtle town. Amazing experience, thank you!

I chose this tour because it had five stars. You probably did too. Now there were several things to like, but in my opinion this wasn’t the best value, especially at nearly $200 per person. TLDR: unless you are super interested in seeing the crater up close, or just want to be on a boat, you’re probably better off saving your money and snorkeling by any other beach for free for a similar or, in our case, better experience. PROS: - The crew did an awesome job keeping us entertained, informed, and safe. Captain Greg had great energy and great humor and did a good job communicating what to expect. The other crew members were also very nice and made sure we had our gear set up correctly and kept us swimming out of the strong currents. Overall everyone seemed very experienced and capable. - Very family friendly. The crew made sure the kids were set up correctly, there were flotation devices available, and there was someone in the water with a paddleboard at all times in case anyone needed rescuing. There was also a water slide that people could use before we went to the crater. - The food was pretty decent. We had muffins and pastries with coffee in the morning and a bunch of different sandwiches after snorkeling. It was nice they fed us both breakfast and dinner so we didn’t have to prepare anything or wake up super early to eat beforehand. - Reef safe sunscreen was provided and the snorkeling gear was clean and worked well. There was a brief snorkeling lesson given for those who were less experienced. CONS: - Now this was probably bad luck, but our tour did not go to turtle town because of jellyfish in the area. Obviously this isn’t the fault of the crew, and it’s commendable they kept us as safe as possible. But just be aware that these things can happen when dealing with the ocean. It was also a huge bummer because this would have been the best part of the tour - yes even better than Molokini crater. Instead of turtle town we snorkeled at a nearby area, but we didn’t see any turtles. - The crater was pretty underwhelming IMO. The water was super clear and there were a ton of fish that would swim right up to us. But we happened to have snorkeled at Kahekili Beach Park the day before, for free, we saw the same exact fish and coral that’s also at molokini. We also saw a turtle at Kahekili and did not see any turtles at the crater. So in the end it felt like we spent $200/person just to have the same experience we had for free right off the beach the day before. - The boat ride is VERY windy and choppy. Depending on your motion sickness tolerance this is either a con or a not a big deal. But just be aware that the south coast is the windiest harbor in the world (thanks capt. Greg for the fact) so the ride back will be extremely windy, and the water is quite choppy. We managed to avoid sea sickness but if you’re prone, it’s best to sit outside or at the front of the boat. I could feel myself getting nauseous while sitting inside. In the end, if you have small children and are ok with the price, this could be a fun trip for the whole family. Chances are you’ll be able to see turtles at turtle town which would make it much more worth it. But we have done other excursions (manta ray swimming on the Big Island, shark cage swimming off Oahu, and dolphin swimming in New Zealand) that cost less and were much more exciting, especially for adults.

Im not very inclined to give bad reviews because we all know life happens. In this case I actually spend sometime reading other reviews to see if there’s a pattern and it does seem like it… here’s the thing, as a surfer and someone who lived in the islands I know the weather may not allow certain activities and so does the captain and crew! If it’s too windy and there’s swell and you can not accomplish what you promise then cancel the tour, last minute or not, I would prefer not to waist a morning and $500+ when I can do better snorkeling from shore. We literally got to the lot and I told my wife, it’s too windy and looks like way too choppy for this so I hope they know what they are doing. We got to Molokini, anchored, a couple people went in the water and surprise, we gotta go, there’s clouds and etc… there were at least 6 other boats out there snorkeling that didnt cancel. Probably cause catamarans are way more stable… but in my mind Captain didn’t want more people throwing up and getting the boat dirty… Anyway, going back we hear, if we can’t snorkel this and that we refund your money… so we are taken to a off the road protected from the wind area that they can deploy the slide and have a snorkel experience mediocre at best… turtle town? Nope, and understand that I get it, too windy to go there. But if I knew that before boarding, so did they. Waisted morning in an expensive vacation that I could have been snorkeling with turtles at Napili bay enjoying a beautiful day. Today upsets me more because a storm came thru and we were unable to experience the Molokini/turtle town promise but also the Napili bay because it was between one or another for us. Do better Cap., play pretend to make the $$$ ain’t everything when people literally save for these experiences and put so much effort. This may sound wrong, but we hear “respect the locals” a lot, it goes both ways man. I lived in HI for 5 years and I would’ve been happy to loose some of my reservation money in trade of the precious time to enjoy the island.

The staff was patient and caring in their approach to showing my family and small kids how to snorkel. I had a panic attack and had difficulty adjusting to the waves, learning to breath through the snorkle equipment while also putting on fins. It felt overwhelming and scary but I faced my fears with their support and patience. They were super reassuring the entire trip. I would definitely recommend this excursion and this company. Book early it sells out.
